They lead me, still. I followed them and was fortunate to be at The Lisa Fischer show with dear friends when I received the news of his passing… When the lights dimmed, and her set began, she sang the lyrics: “I heard he sang a good songI heard he had a style…” which led to me openly weeping and becoming one with song. Music pricks the heart and burrows deep into its lover for eternity. It hurts in a beautiful way as it heals…Killing us softly. And my spirit heard @l.i.s.a.f.i.s.c.h.e.r last night, summon Roberta Flack to welcome Peabo Bryson into that forever space, along with Luther Vandross and Bob Marley and others…The pain became a blessing. Tears flowed, new friends were made, old friendships were renewed, harmony flourished and magic was afoot. Happy 95th birthday to my sweet Great Aunt Nancy and a blessed HEAVENLY Birthday to my Great Uncle Claudwell Frank Crowley…they shared the same birthday—what a pair!My Uncle used to regale me with stories and he often sang this song to me.
