Nobody warned me that every step at Great Sand Dunes would sink. Two steps up. One step back. 😅

Then we discovered the secret — follow someone else’s footprints. The packed sand holds. And suddenly, this woman in her 50s and her very patient hiking partner were actually making it to the top. 🏜️

He never doubted me for a second. The mountain, on the other hand… 😂

Proof that the right trail partner makes all the difference. Great Sand Dunes National Park — Park #1 of 8. Follow along for every single park. 🏔️

Which park are you most curious about? 👇

Dear algorithm… please connect me with women in their 50s and 60s who want to hike more but keep telling themselves they’re too old to start. 🥾

Because I have something to tell them.

You are not too old. You are not too slow. You are not too out of shape. You are not too anything.

The trail doesn’t check your age at the door. It just asks that you show up.

I started taking hiking seriously in my 50s and it has given me some of the best moments of my life — the summits, the waterfalls, the sunrises, the friendships, the version of myself I didn’t know was still in there.

If that’s you — if you’ve been waiting for a sign — this is it.

Follow along. I’ll be right here on the trail ahead of you, leaving a path. 🏔️

I don’t know-know that the sound of moving water is scientifically proven to calm your nervous system… but I know that the moment I hear a waterfall on the trail, everything else in my life gets very, very quiet.

No app. No meditation guide. No subscription required.

Just water, rocks, and the trail that got you there.

Save this for the next time you need a reminder to go find one. 💙

I went to bed with 35 National Parks. I woke up with 36. Didn’t lace up a single boot. 😄

Chiricahua is now America’s 64th National Park — and if you haven’t been, it belongs on your list before the crowds find it.

Old visit counts or go back? Drop your vote below 👇

7 national parks. 30 days. One very humbled Midwest woman. 🏔️

I have been hiking for years and thought I had seen beautiful. Then we drove into Utah and I genuinely had to pull over just to take it in.

Every single park was different. Every single one stopped me cold.

Over the next few weeks I’m going to take you through each one — the trails, the views, the moments I’ll never forget.

But first — which park are you most curious about? Drop it below and I’ll cover that one first. 👇

🥾 Follow along for the full series.

Tag the hiker in your life who is definitely one of these 😂

Which type are YOU? Drop your number below 👇

1️⃣ The “one more mile” hiker — you literally cannot stop yourself
2️⃣ The “is there a bathroom nearby” hiker — no judgment, we’ve all been there
3️⃣ The “I’m just here for the views” hiker — honestly, same
4️⃣ The “I trained for this” hiker — we see you and we respect you
5️⃣ The “wait, how far did we go??” hiker — surprised every single time

I’m a solid mix of 1 and 3 and I have zero regrets about it. 🥾

My favorite anti-aging secret costs $0.

Go outside. Walk on dirt. Breathe fresh air. Repeat.

No supplement, no routine, no product has ever made me feel as alive as a good long hike.

I don’t know-know that women who hike into their 50s, 60s and 70s age slower than women who don’t… but I know the women I meet on the trail are the most vibrant, alive humans I’ve ever seen.

There’s something different about them. Their eyes are bright. They stand tall. They laugh loud. They’re not sitting around waiting for life to happen — they’re out there making it happen, one mile at a time.

I want to be that woman. I’m pretty sure I already am.

Are you? 👇

Nature doesn't know how old you are.

It doesn't care about your pace. It doesn't care about your gear. It only cares that you showed up.

So show up. Lace up. Go.

Save this for the day you need a reminder 🏔️

I didn’t start hiking seriously until I was in my 50s. Best decision I ever made.

There’s something that shifts when you get out on a trail regularly. You sleep better. You think clearer. You start believing you’re capable of more than you thought.

If you’ve been thinking about getting out there — this is your sign.

Tag someone who needs a trail day 🥾

Stand next to a waterfall long enough and it recalibrates everything.

The noise in your head gets quieter. Your shoulders drop. Your breath slows down.

This is why I hike. Not for the miles. Not for the stats. For these moments that remind me what actually matters.

Where’s a waterfall that stopped you in your tracks? Drop it below 👇

Two steps up, one step back. Still made it to the top. 🏜️

Nobody tells you that hiking sand dunes is basically cardio on another level. Every step you take, the sand shifts beneath you — and you have to dig in and keep going anyway.

That's kind of how life feels after 50, isn't it?

You push. The ground moves. You push again.

And then you get to the top — breathless, a little sandy, completely alive — and you think: I did that.

Great Sand Dunes National Park, Colorado 🌄
Park #29 on my national parks journey.

Save this if you need a reminder that the hard climb is always worth it. 🙏
