Coming to you from #Berkeley with some thoughts on #earthquakepreparedness ...

To my shock (not aftershock) a native Californian neighbor did not know that the @usgs is the #1 place to look for earthquake information and to report your experience. Not the news, not social.

Be safe out there!

Back when we were in college, we used to come to Nabalom, especially for the cheese fruit danishes. Today is the last day to enjoy one as the bakery is closing for good, or for bad.

If you're waiting in line, be sure to meet new people. I met an accountant who is also an expert in trust and real estate. But I have to go now because my old landlord is walking down the street!

(He grew up in the neighborhood and rattled off all of the old-time businesses that used to be here on College Avenue in the Elmwood District. It was like every small town used to be, including Beverly Hills. A candy shop, a soda shop, a five and dime shop, hardware store, toy store, pet store - many which are still here and are awesome.

While developers endeavor to create small town environments in new developments, the Elmwood should be made a historic monument, the embodiment of a thriving, small town.

There are so many locations nearby that would be perfect for residential development. I am all for housing, but I am even more for keeping the very few thriving commercial neighborhoods that bring tourism and make a place worth living and staying and meeting neighbors.

Have you been to @threestonehearth on University? It's Berkeley's source for local and organic bone broths, house made kombucha, fermented foods and all things healthy including @summersolacetallow body care products.

You buy it in jars and return the jars.

There's nothing like the thrill of bringing keys to a new homeowner... especially in a time crunch.

Just after closing, I swing by the property to get the keys from the lockbox. Raced across town. We pulled up next to each other in the middle of the road. Key handoff through our windows!

What do you think of those orange flags to safely cross the street? Do you think peacock feathers would make you more visible when crossing the street in Rockridge? This pedestrian does. Seriously though, would you like if Rockridge had more crosswalks where you could grab an orange flag to take with you when crossing the street? by @agentsusie
