Last Saturday, I ventured out for another one of my bright ideas, challenging the body and mind once again. This time -- a one day hike of the La Cloche Silhouette trail in Killarney Provincial Park.

Over 75km and 2.2km elevation gain over the rocks, tree roots and best backcountry trails Ontario has to offer imo.

Started late, 6am with headlamp and finished way slower than I wanted, 4am also with headlamp. Blistered feet and navigating the blazes and cairns in the quiet dark unknown was great fun.

There's no option to quit, unless you want to pay for helicopter rescue. It's a loop in the middle of nowhere. So quit we do not.

+ uncrustables, water filter, chipmunks, birds and beaver, no bears, the perfect weather, the sheer beauty of the park, the first half

- my feet, pace going from 4.5 km/hr to 2.5, going clockwise, the lack of water from H34 to past the Crack, the second half

I will be out at Marilyn Bell park in Toronto, June 20, from 12am to 12am, 24 hours, to play as many holes as I can. The goal is 1,305 holes or 6 rounds per hour, all day!

Ultra #9 is in the books, a mostly flat but extremely muddy and swampy romp thru Southington offload park near Cleveland Ohio.

First 50km under 8 hours :)

The usual soreness, scrapes and bruises almost a week later, but it's great to be walking and jogging like normal five days later.

1 out of 2 for spear throws which is about average for me.

Favorite parts of the course were:

Almost a full 2km sandbag carry!

Log carry (80lb+) into barbed wire crawl, log must be pushed in front of you through the crawl.

Several hundred meter waist high cold plunge right at the start line.

I did a thing (a while ago) but today it was finally verified! I'm a new Guinness world record holder!

Forever grateful for all the volunteers for showing up in the weather that day and for following through on submitting paperwork and media.

I may not be the best disc golfer, but I'm pretty decent at running rounds :) by @agetori77

Slow race for us this time! Didn't help we *thought* we went off course for a couple minutes.

Pop pops had tired ultimate legs.
Stugus wanted to eat his body weight in grass during the race.
Dexter was fantastic but didn't pull uphill enough!

Next time watch out! 😆

Haven't been posting lately so here's a quick tourney recap from P15!

Threw fairly well off the tee. Scorch was working well! (Had a ~40 ft putt on 16 for birdie after throwing it twice.) Getting the 3 on new hole 1 was nice and starting the tourney with a 2 on 11 I'll remember from this one.

Good throws often resulted in weird lies that I couldn't capitalize on and poor throws were punished. Oh well! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Could have scored so much better, but it was still an absolute pleasure to be out on that beautiful course. Thanks Gabe + volunteers. Congrats SJ, CO, GG for the top 3.

About 2 months until my next disc golf tourney! 😯

In the meantime, I have a Spartan Ultra in NC, and a couple ultimate tourneys playing masters mixed and great grand masters open. 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏻‍♂️

Time to hit the gym, run more sprints and shed ~10 lb of blubber 🐖

Sunday July 7 @830am

Kind of a spur of the moment thing! Running dawn till dusk, time split between the courses at Albion Hills.

830am-230pm on the Albatross course
245pm-845pm on the Birdie course

For this Sunday's run, let's get some total kilometer guesses in! (on the original ig post only please) The closest guess will receive a purple putter blend Luna 💜

Sat Mar 9 5:15am - Mar 10 6:15am (clocks change)

Going for a new Guiness World Record of most disc golf courses in 24 hours. The current official record is 23. I completed 24 last year unofficially and am looking to smash that.

This attempt will involve running and walking over 76 kilometers and driving between Toronto and London Ontario to play 30 different 18 hole courses.

Driving will take around 10 hours so playing time of approximately 14 hours. Day/night split for early March is an even 12 hours each and rounds are also split 15/15 for normal discs and glowie.

A Facebook post will be made in Disc Golf Ontario later this week calling for volunteers.

Minimum 2 volunteers required at each course to verify. Commitment ranges from 15 minutes at the shortest courses and maximum 4 hours for observing multiple courses.

Hope to see lots of people out there and hope the weather we have now is the same then!
