some people say you become who you are later in life. not so sure about that. the evidence suggests the personality arrived early and has been running the show ever since. #originstories #staffappreciation #allthehatswewear by @aggie_armstrong
it's #marchmeetthemaker time! let me tell you all about me + my small business. it started in 2011 when I left my corporate job to get back to being a creative - something i went to university for. i always knew i’d come back to my creative life, because my heart & soul couldn’t take being in a 9-5 job not painting/making stuff. so here i am, working 24-7 instead but at least, i am not dead inside. 🤩 - i know it’s so buzzy to call myself a brand, saying that to this day sounds funny but this brand is mine and i am indeed my brand. it's fun AND funny; it’s warm and irreverent; it’s uplifting and deep-rooted; it’s honest & layered with ambiguity; it’s inclusive and advocating; it’s engaging & can be surprisingly diffident; it’s bold & vulnerable. all these: both+and= they are me and this brand all together. (included day 2➡️) i am a relaxed & impatient mama; i always carry a fan whatever the season; i’ve never met a jumpsuit i didn’t get along with; while i have a # of great friends, my sister is my bff who knows when to let me wallow in my tears or fears for a day & then tell me to get my shit together; i’ve been known to do silly things to make people laugh, esp. when i’ve imbibed a 🍷 or 3; i woke up 1 day a princess with a golden cape, and was served wine by a Ukrainian knight in a French chateau; i hoard 👟👠; i 💞passionately & swear like a fucking sailor 🤬 - this year, i am expanding the business as a tourism initiative where you can come see my perennial garden that i built and planted myself, to have an invaluable art experience in and around all the garden’s flowers. - I put everything in my small business. being an entrepreneur is not for the faint of💓. I love what i do and there are days when it’s hard. what makes it rewarding is when i meet people who relate to my art so much that they purchase it to keep for themselves. another incredible gift my small business has given me - people who trust me to guide them into experiencing the magic that art making brings as they leave refreshed, empowered & a whole new outlook about their own creativity & sense of self. * #marchmeetthemaker2023 #businessownerlife #femaleartists #contemporaryartist by @aggie_armstrong
"i'm so glad i live in a world where there are Octobers" - L.M. Montgomery yes, particularly this one that's just passed. it offered me a lot of new experiences and a chance to get back to people who've brought me so much joy and love, including myself. thank you, October 2026 by @aggie_armstrong
took a break from my own art making to immerse myself in incredible works by inspirational artists represented by galleries locally and internationally. great to run into wonderful artist peers, and have mini catchups every 150 metre-walks 😂 along with my art pal @__artbyalex__ so proud of talented and lovely human @sabinafenn for having a great couple of days (to date) with @rookleys. love you Sabina, way to go! 🩷 congratulations @artfairemily, @heyitsmesav and Informa team for putting on a successful show! @art_toronto is on until Sunday, November 1st. *** big love and thanks @r.sannaj. really enjoyed the show this year! 😍🎟️ by @aggie_armstrong

yesterday felt like a fever dream, but these photos and clips prove I actually ran the Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon. i’d say the medal is proof enough, but I also have approximately 147 photos and shaky vids, so you’ll be seeing those.
March 2026 completely levelled me. DECIMATED. and i was already trying to find my footing from a rough couple of years. that month, we lost Patrick, and i found myself facing the same heartbreak and despair i’d felt losing my best friend Amy years before.

losing Patrick, made me look back on my friendship and adventures with Amy. i found a couple of photos of us and the last 5K we ran together. that’s where the idea of a half marathon came from. and the TCS Toronto Marathon has a charity component that gave this idea legs. i wanted to take on something that would honour them both and support CAMH, and apparently a 5K run needed a rather substantial extension, so why not make it 21.1K instead? so, five and a half months before race day, I signed up for the half marathon to raise $1,000 for CAMH in their memory.
grief leaves you wondering wtf to do with yourself, and this gave me somewhere to put some of it. training was a fucking feat in itself. being Type A, Enneagram 3 and an ENFJ meant I was going to see it through, but none of those personality assessments mentioned how much of my life would now revolve around planning a run. ...Continued in comments #tcstorontowaterfrontmarathon #21k #halfmarathon by @aggie_armstrong
a quick recap of my event @tbg_canada this past Thursday. what a wonderfully supportive and organized team in the Programs and Learning Department to work with, along with the best course ambassador, Rita! also loved the fun and engaged group of workshop participants, you all rock! by @aggie_armstrong

it's been a really nice productive season in the milkhouse this year. but with the fall 🍂 comes the time to close it up so nothing freezes ... will be back in there when the spring thaw comes! by @aggie_armstrong
it's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. 🦃 🍗 it's always a good time to remember the things that really count and matter. between bites of pumpkin and apple pie, i’m thinking about all that i've asked for and worked towards, to the unexpected challenges and the more welcomed surprises that have come my way. it's sinking in why not all we ask for or think we want comes to us - - because more often than not, we already have what we really need. #deepthoughts💭 wishing you grace, good company and plenty to be thankful for. even if you're not celebrating the holiday with us in Canada. 🇨🇦🩷 by @aggie_armstrong
