A great night learning with Cigna!📈

This week, we welcomed The Cigna Group and got to learn more about their actuarial opportunities, the Actuarial Executive Development Program (AEDP), and what career development can look like at Cigna. We also picked up some great resume tips and heard firsthand perspectives on navigating the actuarial field!

Favorite Formula Friday ✨
This week’s formula is Bayes’ Theorem, one of the most important formulas on Exam P. It helps us reverse conditional probability and turn given information into the probability we actually want to find. Simple in appearance but powerful in application, Bayes’ Theorem is a key part of building strong probability intuition and solving actuarial problems with confidence.

Hi, I’m Riyad Uzzaman — Vice President of Aggie Actuaries at Texas A&M and a Coaching Actuaries Campus Ambassador. I’m currently preparing for Exam P this semester.

My study setup is built for efficiency. On one screen I run Coaching Actuaries videos and practice sets, and on the other I keep my formula sheet and the Normal Distribution open so I’m seeing it constantly while I work—helps me learn it faster and build quicker recall.

Sometimes I’ll move everything to the living room too—especially if there’s a soccer game on—so I can study and still catch the match ⚽️📚

The following are the Top 5 Exam P Formulas.
1. Law of Total Probability
2. Bayes’ Theorem
3. Expectation
4. Variance
5. Probability of Union

When studying for Exam P, these were the formulas that I found most useful to memorize.

Be sure to check out the formula sheet provided with the Coaching Actuaries Learn or Adapt subscription. I personally found it very useful to revise the important formulas a few days before my exam.

This semester I had the privelege of being the CA ambassador for Aggie Actuaries. I learned a lot about the role of an ambassador and about the Coaching Actuaries Learning Platform. I enjoyed representing Coaching Actuaries during our weekly meetings and helping the club members get study materials at affordable prices through the use of discount codes.
I wish future ambassadors the best of luck. I am sure you all will make a huge impact in your school’s actuarial org. One piece of advice: make sure to complete your monthly tasks on time ;) by @aggieactuaries
