“The paintings of Claude Moufarege are clearly architectural, the subjects spreading expansively through the back streets and highways of Beirut. Moufarege gives an unpeopled version of the city, glimpsed through shuttered and curtained windows, memory and physical distance. Like many the artist has lived out of Lebanon for many years and, like many, periodically returns, remembers, is haunted by a converging memory and place.”- @amytodman by @agialgallery

Agial Art Gallery invites you to the opening of Claude Moufarege’s exhibtion "A Shadow of a Haunting” on Thursday 10 September 5:00-8:00pm (Till 10 October, 2026).

The paintings of Claude Moufarege are clearly architectural, the subjects spreading expansively through the back streets and highways of Beirut. Moufarege gives an oddly unpeopled version of the city, one glimpsed through shuttered and curtained windows, memory and physical distance. Like many, the artist has lived out of Lebanon for many years and, like many, periodically returns, remembers, paints, is haunted by a converging memory and place.

Perspective here is unclear, but we don’t need clarity, and we don’t get it here. In this painted Beirut, perspective is elsewhere. by @agialgallery

Six years have passed, and your memory is still alive...

Today, we remember Firas Dahwiche and all the victims of the 4th of August 2020, while we continue to hope for the justice they deserve.

We will never forget.

Saloua Raouda Choucair at the 59th Carnegie International, among 61 artists, organized every four years by Carnegie Museum of Art. Titled “If the word we”, the 59th Carnegie International considers the first-person plural as an open and evolving proposition—one shaped by listening, translation, and transformation—bringing together artistic practices that engage shared experience, circulation, and worlds in transition.
Organized by Ryan Inouye, Danielle A. Jackson, and Liz Park, the Kathe and Jim Patrinos Curators of the 59th Carnegie International, the upcoming edition will engage contributors and partners across Pittsburgh and around the world, transforming the museum’s programs, partnerships, and spaces in imaginative ways.

Visit our group exhibition “Parallel Lines” gathering artists from different generations and approaches which reflects the plurality of contemporary creation through a selection of works brought into dialogue through proximity, rhythm, and contrast. The exhibition proposes a fluid and open encounter between singular artistic positions, where each work retains its autonomy while contributing to a larger collective presence.
The exhibition is on view through June and July, 2026. by @agialgallery

From the opening of “Don’t Get Me Wrong” by Nabil Nahas at the Lebanese Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennial di Venezia from 9 May till 22 November, 2026. Curated by Nada Ghandour @nadaghandour1

Reflecting Lebanon’s fluid and multicultural identity, the Pavilion celebrates unity in diversity and the beauty of contradictions, in line with the artistic research Nabil Nahas has been pursuing over several decades, travelling between Lebanon and the United States.

Spanning forty-five linear metres within the Arsenale, the installation consists of twenty-six acrylic-on-canvas panels. Each panel rises three metres high and is arranged side by side to form a monumental, enveloping frieze that invites visitors to navigate within it. Inspired by Persian miniatures, the installation resists linear narrative and fixed interpretation, offering instead an experience to be lived rather than an image to be deciphered.

The compositions feature a rich, complex visual language, where different types of geometric abstractions, inspired by Islamic and Western traditions, meet figuration and fractal patterns, forming an unexpected continuum.
