The dinosaur is made from a bamboo frame covered in withies and wet strength tissue paper followed by parachute fabric for waterproofing. It was too big to fit through the workshop door so we had to build it in the yard. We were blessed with good weather and a very quiet period at Pelican House! Thanks as always to @jack_witek who documented the process so beautifully ✨ by @agit_props

At 10 metres from tooth to tail, Chuck the Rex is by far the biggest and most complex build we’ve ever undertaken. Built for @republiccampaign in the spring of 2024 with the help of @agit_props and more than 20 volunteers, the dinosaur is made from bamboo, withies, tissue paper, and parachute fabric. The puppet is the length and height of a double decker bus, rolls along on an old boat trailer and is operated by pulling ropes. Looking for a logo for Agitprops, I’m thinking of a star that combines a military star as painted on helicopters, with the A from Anarchy. (Scroll through the pics for a feel for where I’m going with this, Agitprop is a Russian word, but I don’t want it overtly ‘Soviet’ looking) Thinking it would be cool if it was a stencil too for a street art feel. Then all props can be branded, maybe with an actual branding iron (that’d be cool eh?!!) Might be too much to ask to get a flavour of Celtic knot work into it too?? Any of you designer folk wanna have a crack at this?…. by @agit_props

It’s no mean feat to smuggle a mahoosive banner into a museum when they’re expecting you and have laid on extra security. When the Printer bailed out a few days before. When you’re already involved in producing another flipping great banner for a different project, and some props for a different event. But burning the candle at both ends, spinning plates and working with an epic team of crew and volunteers, we pulled this off!!!! by @agit_props

Massive banner hang. The Science Museum will be opening its new #Adani-sponsored ‘Energy Revolution’ gallery on Tuesday, and a wide variety of groups occupied the museum this afternoon to expose Adani’s far from Green credentials and its connections to the #Gaza genocide. Take a perfectly lovely little 25litre barrel, smelling sweetly of lavender essential oils, Apply some oily looking black paint and some custom warning stickers, and tadaaa! We have a leaky oil barrel for Global justice now and friends of the earth’s protest against the EnergyCharter treaty. In November 2022.(Spoiler. We won that campaign, the UK pulled out of the ECT in February, it could have led to the UK being sued for laws to tackle climate change that affect oil companies profits!
