Night skies of Purne, Zanskar. ✨

Far away from city lights, deep in the rugged mountains of Zanskar, the night sky feels almost unreal.

I spent the night watching the Milky Way rise above the barren ridges of Purne — with clouds drifting through the galactic core and an endless sea of stars overhead.

Some nights are worth staying awake for. 🌌

24 Hours at Gonbo Rangjon ⛰️

Some mountains are beautiful.
Gonbo Rangjon is unforgettable.

I spent just one day here in the heart of Zanskar—from the last golden light of sunset, through a sky filled with the Milky Way, to the first glow of dawn.
What surprised me wasn't the mountain itself.

It was how dramatically light transformed it. Every hour, it felt like I was standing in front of an entirely different peak.

By the time I left, I realized something simple.
The mountain never changed. The light did.

Tso Moriri isn’t just a lake.
It feels like another planet hidden deep within the Himalayas.

At 14,836 ft above sea level, this surreal blue lake sits quietly in the remote Changthang plateau of Ladakh — surrounded by barren mountains, nomadic Changpa settlements, and some of the harshest landscapes in India.

A land where: • Black-necked cranes breed in silence
• Pashmina goats roam with Changpa nomads
• No construction is allowed along the lake
• And the weather changes every few minutes

Eight days across the Middle Land. 🏔️

From golden sunrise over the Kinnaur Kailash range to the little monks of Ki, the prayer-flag passes above Kaza, the turquoise braids of the Spiti river, and one last chai before Chicham — this land gave us everything again this September.

Endlessly grateful to the group who trusted us with their first Spiti chapter. You made a hard, high, cold, beautiful week feel easy. 🧡

We don't rush these trails. We wait for the light, we travel small, and we let the place do the talking.

Our next expeditions are already taking shape. If chasing light across the Himalayas has been sitting on your list — consider this your sign.

Before it becomes a cup, it is simply earth — waiting to be shaped by hands that have done this for years.

Every piece begins with the simplest material. Clay, water, a little patience — and years of knowledge passed through the hands.

No blueprint. No measuring tape. Just touch, pressure and instinct — built through years of practice.

What looks effortless from the outside is the result of countless repetitions. The hands already know what the eyes are looking for.

A gentle movement changes the form. Too much pressure and it collapses. Too little and it never takes shape.

Round and round, the clay gives way to something useful — something meant to be held, filled and eventually forgotten.

One cup may look ordinary. Multiply that by hundreds, thousands — each one shaped individually by the same pair of hands.

Behind the finished pieces is a person, a livelihood and a craft that continues because someone still chooses to do it every day.

We often notice the object. We rarely stop to look at the person who made it.

Some places are built to survive.

Perched high in the stark mountains of Spiti, Key Monastery has witnessed invasions, wars, fire and a devastating earthquake — yet it still stands.

What makes it even more fascinating?
A collection of ancient weapons remains within the monastery, a reminder of a far more turbulent past.

Today, the same walls echo with prayers, meditation and silence.

A place that has seen conflict… and chosen peace. 🏔️

Some portraits stay with you long after the moment is gone.

There is something about 85mm that makes me slow down, observe, and let the portrait happen naturally.

This is the lens behind the portraits in this series — the SIGMA 85mm F1.4 DG DN | Art.

The longer working distance of 85mm gives me enough space to observe expressions without making the camera feel intrusive.

From weathered faces to younger eyes, the lens renders every subject with its own character.

What I particularly enjoy about this combination is the balance — beautiful subject separation without losing the sense of the environment around the person.

At f/1.4, the focus falls exactly where I want it — while everything outside that plane gradually melts away.

I love that 85mm gives me enough working distance to let people forget about the camera — while still giving the portrait that intimate feel.

I also enjoy using 85mm when the landscape calls for a tighter perspective — compressing layers and pulling distant elements closer together.

After using it across different faces, places and situations, 85mm f/1.4 remains one of the focal lengths I enjoy working with the most. by @agnimax

A journey through Spiti Valley — from Chandigarh, across the high Himalayas, and back again.

Our route took us through mountain towns, ancient monasteries, remote villages, high passes and the vast landscapes of Spiti.

We began in Shimla, leaving the plains behind and slowly climbing into the Himalayas.

Narkanda was our first taste of the mountains — quiet forests, winding roads and the changing light of the Himalayas.

In Kalpa, the landscape begins to transform. Apple orchards sit beneath the dramatic presence of Kinner Kailash.

From here, the journey enters the high-altitude desert. Nako feels remote, quiet and beautifully untouched.

Tabo is a place where time feels different — ancient monasteries, mud walls and centuries of Himalayan Buddhist heritage

Perched dramatically above the valley, Dhankar is one of those places where the landscape and the monastery seem inseparable.

Kaza is the heart of Spiti — our base for exploring the villages, monasteries and landscapes scattered across the valley.

Beyond the mountains and monasteries, it is the people who give Spiti its character. These encounters were some of the most memorable moments of the journey.

Rising above the Spiti Valley, Key Monastery is one of the defining sights of the region — and one of the landscapes we had been waiting to photograph.

Langza feels like another world — enormous skies, barren mountains, the Buddha watching over the village, and life at an extraordinary altitude.

Hikkim and Komic took us even higher. Remote villages, enormous landscapes and everyday life at the edge of the Himalayas.

The road climbed higher towards Kibber and Chicham — where villages cling to the mountains and roads seem to disappear into the landscape.

And then came Chandratal — the Moon Lake.
A turquoise lake surrounded by stark mountains, reached after one of the most dramatic stretches of the journey. A fitting final landscape before we began our descent towards Manali.

Some of the best photographs aren't planned. A shepherd, a flock, an empty mountain road and the morning light — just another moment along the way.

Ladakh is more than just a landscape. @utladakhtourism #WorldPhotographyDay

It’s the people who call these mountains home.
The children growing up at 12,000 feet.
The rivers carving their way through impossible terrain.

The colours you discover when you slow down.
The silence that reminds you how small we really are.

And the nights when the universe seems to take over.

I’ve been photographing Ladakh for years, and every time I return, I see something different.
Because perhaps that’s what makes Ladakh special.

It isn't just a place you visit.
It's a place you remember.

They say India is a land of diversity, but when you look into the eyes of its people, you realize it’s a single emotion bound by a million stories. 🇮🇳✨

Beyond the monuments, it’s these incredible souls who preserve our heritage, our colors, and our warmth day after day. Framing these faces across Rajasthan reminded me of what true freedom and rich identity look like.
