POSTS STORIES REELS

We just wrapped up a killer World/continental Cup season and it’s time to spotlight the accomplishments of our Para Team Utah.
Aleks!! This Dude @agodowski has been putting work in on the Para Circuit for years and he just had a break through season. Getting on Banked Slalom podiums in Austria and finishing it off with two wins in Steamboat 🥇🥇. Securing himself in the World Cup for Banked Slalom! A goal set and a goal demolished ✅
But that’s not what it’s about for this absolute Viking. Aleks’s love for snowboarding is loud whether he is screaming “I love snowboarding” at the top of his lungs or you can feel it through the power and finesse in his carves. Aleks we are proud of you and your passion shines through onto all of Team Utah! 👊🤘🔥🏂

*also late post but here it is anyway*
Lots of sightseeing, castles and very little actually snowboarding due to things outside of our control. Germanys SBX competition was not my best results nor was it good snowboarding. It was raining the entire time we were there, as a continental cup athlete I couldn’t train on the start section that World Cup athletes were only allowed to due to the mentioned rain, some of the tougher competitors of the season, and also not even riding in full 4 man heats. Finishing over the two races at 6th and 4th place.
With that, we went on to Italy for my first banked slalom competition of the season. Or at least what would’ve been. Due to the aforementioned weather, the rain followed us to Italy and resulted in high avalanche conditions cancelling the banked slalom comp. A little bummed again about not being able to snowboard, we went sightseeing in Milan and ended up with a broken window in our car and some of my teammates electronics stolen. Had to file a police report and spent the whole day running around the city hopping to get back some of our stuff with some luck. Still down about the lack of snowboarding we went to Zermatt Switzerland to get some fun riding in. I can safely say that that was one of my best powder days ever. I only wish we had a couple more days but we had to fly back from Germany. While in our airbnb a little ways away from the airport, a drunk Italian man attempted to break into our airbnb resulting in no sleep, calling the police, and having everyone even more stressed out considering the rest of the trip so far. After that we drove to the airport where we were supposed to fly home from there but at the gate for our flight, it was cancelled. Being on the phone with customer service agents for 2-3 hours we finally get everyone’s flights rebooked for the same day and this ending the nightmare trip. By far the craziest trip I’ve ever experienced and I’m so glad to have survived it along with my teammates.

*extremely late with this post and the ones that will follow*
This was some clips from the first competition of the season in Pyhä Finland in SBX. Sometimes things don’t go your way and in this case, pulling out of the start gate on the first race day I caught my edge and concussed myself resulting me pulling from the races. Although bummed about not being able to compete, I was able to get some of the best SBX training I have gotten in a while. The last video of me in my pink jacket and jersey on was me completely concussed with no memory of doing what I did.
Till next time Finland 🇫🇮

Steamboat camp this past week got me really hyped and ready for Finland.
Can’t say I’ve ever been this prepared for a competition

SkiSpec this year was one for the history books. I got to meet so many other talented riders and amazing coaches this year. Some of whom am as so happy to call my friends. Being back at the race camp for the 2nd year in a row now has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I am also so happy to announce I was awarded a grant for a new snowboard that will allow me to continue striving and excel in my snowboarding abilities. Both my body and mind were pushed to its limits but I can very easily say I came out a better and smarter rider at the end of the day. The @thehartford Ski Spectacular will always and forever has a place near and dear to my heart. After losing my leg in 2018, I never thought I would be attending my first ever ski spec in 2019 and few years after that in the 2021/22 season attending as instructor with the @boec_adaptive as a fellow intern. I have soooo many wonderful people to thank for the motivation and support to get me where I am today including a few fellow athletes and coaches like @steven_wayne_cantwell @steve_o_crawford @mhancock92 @elliott_sendy and @grizzlygabel. #skispectacular #adaptivesnowboard #adaptivesnowsports #adaptiveathlete #biodapt #snowboarding #highfivesathlete #highfivesfoundation #breckeffect #doneksnowboards by @agodowski

What a way to send it off here in breck. Another chapter of my life finished and a new one begins. I have so many people and friends to be thankful of as well as memories that will be with me forever. To say goodbye forever would mean I’m lying to myself because this town will always have a place in heart.
Till next time breck, be seeing you around 🥲#paraathlete #pegleg #breckenridge #brecklife #amputee by @agodowski

As the summer approaches its end here, its time for the gears to start switching. Its also time for me to reflect on yet another summer.

I am no fan of summer and its heat it brings with it. That doesn't mean it doesn't have its moments. A lot more hiking, getting into MTBing, and pushing through all the tough days that make the winter even more exciting. Lots of mountains and valleys with summer but with that said it can't always be a walk in the park. The winter breeze slowly creeping up on me has me itching to get back out there.

I have my wonderful roommates @thehectorcompanionphotography @carlitoss.j and @lsawyer24 to thank for showing me the good side of summer. I'm still not converted but I'm at least enjoying it a bit more. I am gonna miss it here though, be seeing you around Breck.
