Postcards from Paradise 🏝️

This was our second time back at Avani+ Fares in the Maldives. Hosting freediving courses, sharing conservation stories and spending time in the blue blue water with our kids. What a privilege that this is part of our job. 💙

(Not shared… late night emailing, photo editing and video downloading, tantruming kids and so on. I mean, it’s real life right? And that’s great! Perfection is in being present, appreciating all of it, and breathing in real gratitude.)

Après une saison bien remplie à enseigner et encadrer en apnée, rien de mieux que de terminer avec une jolie compétition d’apnée (en lac 🥶)

En vrai, plonger pour soi lorsqu’on devient monitrice d’apnée, c’est dur... 😥 Pas tant dans le fait de trouver le temps de le faire, mais plutôt dans le fait de réussir à se mettre dans les conditions mentales 🧘‍♀️: arrêter de penser à l’orga, la sécurité, les élèves etc. Et se concentrer uniquement sur soi, ses sensations, sa plongée … « lâcher prise » 😮‍💨

Début septembre, j’ai eu la grande joie de participer à la 1ere compétition d’apnée en lac organisée en France, par @planeteapnee à Annecy. Et surtout : en tant qu’athlète 😎

Une seule plongée, rien que pour moi. Une annonce conservatrice, sur une profondeur que je sais que je maîtrise, pour pouvoir me concentrer sur une seule chose : savourer 😍

Savourer cette descente, kiffer la glisse, réussir à embrasser la thermocline violente du lac, et surtout célébrer avec tous les potes qui sont là.

Mission réussie : c’était froid mais c’était délicieux.

Merci @maxime.souverain d’avoir su immortaliser ce moment avec des images qui reflètent surtout le partage énorme que représente l’apnée, avec nos humains préférés 🩵
