I’m a Christian who didn’t wait until marriage.

I’m a Christian who left the church.

I’m a Christian who struggles with anger.

I’m a Christian who has lied, said things I shouldn’t have, and hurt people I love.

I’m a Christian who has put the wrong things before God.

And yes, I’m a Christian who still struggles with sin.

Because becoming a Christian didn’t mean I suddenly became perfect. It meant I finally admitted I needed Jesus.

Some people act like Christians should never mess up. Like the moment you give your life to God, every bad habit disappears and every struggle ends.

But that’s not how it works.

I’m not going to pretend I have a perfect past just to make my faith look pretty.

I’m not going to hide my struggles just because someone might use them to question my relationship with God.

My testimony isn’t that I’ve never sinned. My testimony is that my sin doesn’t have the final say over my life.

I don’t use God’s grace as an excuse to keep doing wrong. I lean on His grace because I know I cannot change my heart without Him.

I am a work in progress.

I still have things God is working on in me.

And I would rather be a sinner who humbly admits she needs a Savior than someone who pretends to have it all together while looking down on everyone else.

Jesus didn’t come for the people who thought they were good enough without Him. He came because we weren’t.

Remembering Hunter, one of the best boys there ever was! He was a therapy dog at Children's Mercy and these pictures are from February 14, 2020 whenever Amarissa had lifesaving surgery. Hunter passed away last week. He was 12 years young! He married Hope, another therapy dog at the hospital. Their ceremony was held at the chapel to ere in the hospital and it was so adorable. She wore a dress and he wore a tuxedo, obviously! 🥰😍 He will be missed! But oh, the sweet memories! @childrensmercy by @ah55737
