Fiber is at the heart of my approach to a healthy weight and a happy poop 🤗 because it does much more than keep you regular. The right fibers feed beneficial bacteria in your gut, which produce compounds called short-chain fatty acids. These compounds help support the gut-brain signals involved in appetite and fullness. Fiber can also help slow the absorption of carbohydrates and support a steadier blood sugar response.

In other words, fiber can help you work with your hunger biology instead of constantly fighting it. #weight #guthealthmatters #fiber #recipe ‼️👍‼️ taken in Global by @ahealthyview

Sleep super power !!! A new study in PLOS Medicine takes the aging-related research and reveals that roughly 48 more minutes of REM sleep each night could reduce the risk of 83 diseases, many of which are cardiometabolic, metabolic, and neurologic conditions tied to longevity.
They found:
More time in REM was linked to nearly 50% lower dementia risk: Greater REM sleep was linked to a 26% lower risk of heart failure, 46% lower risk of dementia, and 80% lower risk of Parkinson’s disease.
More sleep is not necessarily better: In this study, adults who slept within a 6-8 hour window spent more time in REM, and had the lowest risk for the most diseases. General sleep guidelines are 7-9 hours of sleep for adults 61-64.
Sleep regularity and continuity matter: A consistent sleep schedule can support your circadian rhythm and lead to more consistent time in REM. Less than five hours and inconsistent sleep were linked to increased disease risk.
More deep (slow-wave) sleep was also linked to a lower risk of seven conditions, including depression and type 2 diabetes, emphasizing its role in supporting aging and longevity. #sleep #health #weightloss #insulin by @ahealthyview

When things start to feel a little “off” on a GLP-1…

You might feel full, but not particularly nourished.
You might wake up feeling a little queasy.
Your energy might disappear faster than it used to.
And suddenly, eating enough of the right things feels like a full-time job.

GLP-1 medications can be incredibly effective tools for weight management, but they also change the way we eat, digest and respond to food.

And that means we need to think beyond simply “eat less”.

We need to think about protein, fibre, hydration, electrolytes, gut health, muscle, nutrients and long-term sustainability.

This is something I’ve been researching, writing and talking about extensively… because there is a LOT of information out there about GLP-1s, and frankly, not all of it deserves your attention. 😉

And now I have something very exciting to share…

📖 I have a new book coming.

It’s all about life on and after GLP-1 medications, including how to support your body, protect your gut and maintain the progress you’ve worked so hard for.

I’m not quite ready to reveal everything yet…

But stay tuned. This one has been a labour of love.

Here’s some good news if you’re a fast walker 🚶🚶🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️— and an incentive to pick up the pace if you’re not: findings from a study published July 14, 2026, in Neurology suggest that older adults who maintain a brisk natural walking pace into their 80s and beyond may be lower risk factors for dementia 🧠What an easy habit to incorporate daily 👍
The analysis yielded striking results. Compared with their slower-walking peers, super-movers were about 50% less likely to develop cognitive impairment over follow-up periods ranging from 3.4 to 5.4 years, and 60% less likely to report a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. Their memory and thinking skills also declined more slowly over time, as measured by memory recall, processing speed, and mental flexibility tests. #health #wellness #walk #dementia #alzheimers by @ahealthyview

9/11 changed our nation forever, so on this day I think about how many good people tried to help. I think about how many good people stepped up to serve in any way they could. I think of all those who are still mourning 25 years later. May we all find some time today to bow our heads in silence and think of all of those who walk among us who are still grieving, still hurting, still missing those they love! The only good thing that happens when really bad things happen is to allow that bad thing 😢 to serve as good reminders to be our best selves! to help people when we can ! and to live life to its fullest❤️ #love #life #gregory 🇺🇸🧑‍🚒#brother ❣️ by @ahealthyview

I can’t do anymore without YOU! I’m writing my next book, and I want your voice in it.

If you’ve used a GLP-1 medication, Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro, Zepbound, whatever your version is, if you’ve tried microdosing, or if you’ve done this your own way without a prescription and worked on activating your own GLP-1 naturally, I want to hear from you.

Every road counts here. There’s no wrong way to be in this conversation.

Here’s how it works. Some of you might be totally happy for me to share your story publicly, on my socials, maybe even on TV. Others might want to tell me everything and have it stay exactly where it lands, folded into my research, anonymous, just for the book. Both are welcome 🤗 and so is the good, the bad, and the 😤 ughh❣️

And because your story is worth something, if I use it, you get something back. A complimentary 45 minute consultation with me, one on one, plus a copy of the book the moment it’s published.

Email me michele@ahealthyview.com and let’s talk. What a way to be part of something bigger than a number on a scale, huh? #health #glp #glp1journey #ozempic #semaglutide by @ahealthyview

“This isn’t a random life. It’s a life I’ve consciously chosen.”

Some people might look at my life and think it’s a little random.

Working from a boat. Writing a new book. Sailing, eating, hiking my way through the Mediterranean ⛵️⛵️

But there’s nothing random about it.

The older I get, the more I realise that we don’t get to keep everything.

People we love leave us.
Friends die.
Plans change.
Life throws curveballs we never saw coming.

And if there’s one thing I’ve learnt from losing people I love, it’s this:

Don’t wait to live.

Be present.
Enjoy the ordinary moments.
Take the trip.
Have the long lunch.
Call your friend.
Tell people you love them.
Give a little more light and a little more love to the people around you. I am often an accused of hugging people for a little bit too long… Slightly weird but hey that’s me. 🤗

And most importantly, do it while you have your health and the people you love are still here.

So yes, I’m working from a boat.

But this isn’t a random life.

It’s an intentional one.

And today, I’m incredibly grateful for it. ❤️

What would you do differently if you stopped waiting for the “right time” to live? Have a pause, think about it and share ❣️ #IntentionalLiving #LiveInTheMoment #GratefulLife #BoatLife #health taken in Sicilia, Italy by @ahealthyview

SALINA: Modonna Mia 🤗😁🇮🇹🌿

Today began with something I wasn’t expecting from a luxury spa experience…

Having the barnacles removed from my body. 😂

Okay, not actual barnacles… but after weeks of swimming, sunshine and island life, my skin was definitely ready for some serious attention.

Before the treatment even began, I spent time in the Wellness Area at Hotel Signum, surrounded by lemon and jasmine trees. And honestly, it felt like stepping into another world.

There are five different thermal baths, fed by natural springs and rich in minerals including magnesium and sulphur, with the water used at different temperatures and pressures for hydrotherapy.

There’s also a beautiful steam bath and a reconstructed ancient thermal stove discovered on nearby Lipari, dating back around 3,500 years.

Then came the treatment…

I was exfoliated with olive oil, honey and capers (yes, capers!) before being immersed in a beautiful copper bath with almond milk.

Madonna mia! 🇮🇹

It was one of those experiences where you think, I could really get used to this.

There is something incredibly special about Salina. The ancient traditions, the natural thermal waters, the local ingredients, the lemon and jasmine gardens, the sea air and that wonderfully slow Sicilian pace.

And I’m already dreaming about bringing a very special group here next year for a Salina wellness retreat. I the professional customer service here at this hotel is an 11 out of 10. The Sicilian Salina attention to detail throughout every restaurant and every interaction I have had here on this island is exceptional.🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

If you’re interested in joining me, indulging and experiencing this little slice of Sicilian heaven, send me a ❤️.

??? WHAT IF YOUR GLP-1 COULD BE NATURALLY ACTIVATED IN YOUR OWN KITCHEN?

Yep. Your gut already makes GLP-1.

And what you eat can help support your body’s natural GLP-1 response.

GLP-1 helps with fullness, appetite, digestion and blood sugar regulation. So let’s give your gut something to work with. 👇

🥚 PROTEIN
Eggs, fish, chicken, Greek yoghurt, tofu and legumes. Protein helps keep you satisfied and supports GLP-1 release.

🌾 FIBRE
Oats, lentils, chickpeas, chia, flax, apples and pears. Your gut bacteria turn certain fibres into compounds that can stimulate GLP-1.

🥑 HEALTHY FATS
Extra-virgin olive oil, avocado and nuts help make meals more satisfying.

🥣 FERMENTED FOODS
Yoghurt, kefir, kimchi and sauerkraut help support your gut microbiome.

🚶‍♀️ MOVE AFTER MEALS
Even a short walk can help your body manage glucose.

🍽️ SLOW DOWN
Your fullness signals need time to catch up. Your fork doesn’t need to win the race!

😴 SLEEP
Good sleep supports appetite regulation and metabolic health.

The formula?

PROTEIN + FIBRE + HEALTHY FATS + GUT HEALTH + MOVEMENT + SLEEP

Not complicated. Just clever biology. 🌿

If you’re looking for ways to naturally support your own GLP-1, appetite control and metabolic health, your kitchen is a pretty good place to start. See

Whilst writing my new book & island-hopping through Sicily, and I’ve found the absolute perfect travel companion in Stanley Tucci’s “What I Ate in One Year.” @stanleytucci Reading his food diary while exploring these beautiful islands has been surreal. There’s such a strong parallel between his stories and my days here. Just like Tucci captures in his writing, my trip has completely revolved around the rhythm of local meals—only here, it’s filled with incredible Sicilian specialties like fresh seafood, capers, citrus, and wild fennel. Sitting by the sea, enjoying simple but perfect regional dishes, and letting the next meal dictate the day’s itinerary is exactly the kind of culinary appreciation he writes about. Living out this shared love for food in such a stunning setting is making this trip unforgettable! #italian #food #health two of my favorites are….@ristorante_dapinapanarea @pa.pe.ro 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Hey how about you …. have a favorite restaurant in Italy … please share 🙏 by @ahealthyview

A NEW SEASON ⛵️

For the past three years, I’ve made a slightly unconventional decision.

For three months of every year, I live on a boat. Minkè ⛵️

Different seas. Different countries. Same ridiculous amount of sunscreen. ☀️

But three very different seasons of me.

SEASON ONE: NEWNESS

New places. New routines. New adventures.

And, if I’m truthful, quite a lot of anxiety underneath it all.

I was learning to let go of of my normal life and go back to 30 years ago when I sailed around the world with Steven and our brand new baby Gabi 🌟

SEASON TWO: GRIEF

I arrived on the boat just two days after losing my older brother, following his long struggle with depression and ultimately a slow suicide.

Years earlier, our younger brother Gregory had died as a consequence of the tragedies surrounding 9/11. It was an enormous loss for our family, and one my older brother struggled deeply to live with. And died of a slow painful suicide last year

I thought I could keep moving through my own grief.

I ate well. Exercised. Prioritised sleep. Got outside. Connected with people I loved.

And still, I wasn’t okay.

Eventually, my husband and children told me I needed more help.

So, alongside those lifestyle foundations, I took medication.

Medication didn’t replace those foundations. It sat alongside them when I needed more support.

SEASON THREE: LIGHT 🌞

This season feels different.

Not because life is perfect. And not because I’ve discovered some Insta-famous wellness secret involving mushroom powder and moonlight.

I’ve grieved. Accepted help. Slowed my frenetic work pace. Continued to eat well, move, sleep, connect and laugh.

Slowing down meant finally feeling some of what I’d been so busy outrunning.

And somewhere along the way, the heaviness began to lift.

This year, I’m looking out at a different sea, in another country, with different eyes.

Maybe that’s what a new season really is.

Sometimes the scenery changes.

Sometimes you do.

There is room for all of it: lifestyle, connection, professional help and, yes, sometimes medication‼️‼️

Different seas. Different countries. Different eyes. New season. 🌊

What season are you in right now?
