This is a beautiful image of the morning sunrise and the stars at the same time. You know the longer we live, we see the darkness of sins curse covering the earth. Sin abounding and the results of sin with pain and suffering like we’ve never seen before. You can despair if you are not filling up on the good Word of God. The one thing about darkness is that our lights are seen clearer. Look how many stars!!!! Oh as believers, we are referred to as the light of the world! Mathew 5:14-16. Our lights are the guide that points others to the true Light of Jesus Christ God’s Son. Beautiful, right? I am now reading in the book of Daniel. It says, “And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.” Those of us who know our Bibles understand that the end is near as prophesied in the book of Daniel. Like the imagery of the Disney movie, Lion King….the Scriptures have a record of the stars as well. I like to think they are images of the saints who’ve died before us in our great cloud of witnesses cheering us on until the true Light comes and calls us home. Of course they are stars. But those who are shining the light of God in this earth turning people to the righteousness of Christ shall shine like the stars forevermore!!! And THIS could be the day!!! The day of our deliverance in the rapture of the church before the great tribulation. Hey! It’s Sunday!! Rejoice in your Maker and Saviour again!!! Remember His death, burial, and resurrection. God so loves the world. God so loves us! Don’t despair. Have hope! Shine on! Jesus is coming soon!!! Have a great day!!! by @aheartdevoted

I wake up early. Usually it’s dark. It’s my morning routine to go out on my back porch and hold up my coffee cup towards the mountains and think in my mind, “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord which made Heaven and Earth.” Psalm 121. Then if the sun is rising, I think on the verse that says the Lord our God is a Sun and Shield. He will give grace and glory. Well the nights are getting longer so this morning it was very dark. My thoughts were heavy. My heart burdened. The crickets were singing. It was calm. Sometimes God doesn’t tell me answers or solutions. Sometimes He just assures me that He’s close. Nature assures us that He is aware of us down here as sinful, weak, finite humans. So I’m just standing there looking out at nights gifts. Then my “pet” deer came walking right in front of me! I said, “Well hi Chesterina!!!!!” She startled me and I startled her a bit! ☺️😁 But this deer that has stayed very close to my house all summer, was there again at just the right moment. Oh you may think “Patty deer are out at night all the time.” Yep, they are. But I believe God put it there for me. Because He loves me. He knew I needed Him to draw near to me in that moment. God’s affirmations of love are seen in nature. Are you paying attention?!!! God does care even at times when it doesn’t feel like it. Nature is healing, comforting, inspiring, beautiful, and reveals our God is still so great and mighty. I cannot make God move in the ways I want Him to. I can pray. Present my requests. But then I must stop. Simply look at the One I’m talking to. Oh to me, HE is so wonderful. Just taking all He is into my spirit and thoughts….my soul is thrilled, humbled, I feel His deepest affection and compassion for me. In Him I find courage again. Grace. Mercy. Love. Thanks Chesterina! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is this weeping willow that is unique in that it is called red weeping cherry tree. Some other names for it are pink snow showers because in the spring it has vibrant pink spring flowers, dark green serrated leaves, and an arching habit, reaching up to 35 feet tall and 25–30 feet wide! In the spring, the whole thing is pink with cascading blooms!!! It also has a beautiful smooth mahogany-red bark. Their branches grow upright and then gracefully cascade down like an elegant chandelier, fitting making a big impression! In the fall, they have bright yellow leaves and the tree will be one of the brightest ones in your yard. As temperatures drop in the winter, the graceful weeping branches still add beauty to the landscape, even through the snow. This one just really caught my attention with its perfect shape and ornamental structure. The willow brings a message of flexibility and inner strength. showing us that we can bend and not break. The trees energy symbolizes the ability to feel deep grief, sorrow, or hardship, yet remain completely anchored. It reminds us that we can survive the wildest storms of life and emerge intact. The ruby-red cherry blossoms also represent the sweetness of heaven and sweet rewards to those who walk with God and live to please Him. “In thy presence is fulness of joy!” Psalm 16:11. Sooo, if my heart bows with sorrow or sadness, His Presence nourishes me with loving kindness!! His joy overflows then through my words, my kindness, and my faithfulness. Oh then our life is beautiful to those who see it! Weeping may endure for a night, (the weeping willow), but joy cometh in the morning! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is acorns. The acorn, is made up of the cap, the tough outer shell, and the kernel inside. The tough outer shell and the cap of the acorn, called the cupule, protect the seed. The kernel is made of two fatty seed leaves, called cotyledons, which surround a small embryo in the pointed tip of the nut. Depending on the species, acorn nuts require anywhere from six months to two years to mature. Over a hundred animal species, including squirrels, rely on the acorns as an important food source. Some animals bury the acorns to store them for the winter. Not all of the buried acorns are dug up and some of them germinate and grow into mighty oak trees. An oak tree typically takes anywhere from 20 to 40 years before it begins producing its first acorn crop. Oak trees produce more hard mast acorn nut food by weight than all other native nut trees combined, with an older mature oak dropping up to 10,000 acorns in a single year! They’re rather cute, and as a kid I loved gathering them up and counting them and well, they are simply adorable with that cap on top that kids love to twist off and put back on! Gathering things from the ground satisfies a natural childhood drive for sorting, counting, and organizing. Their small size makes them ideal props and our big childhood imagination acting as food for our toy animals, cargo for toy trucks and trains, or money in pretend games. Kids naturally discover how they roll (or wobble slightly differently than smooth marbles) and can be spun like tops if a stem is attached, or we’d even drop them down ramps and tubes. ☺️ They are easy to paint, draw faces on, use for counting games, or press into playdough. Nature is a wonderland for kids! Children often notice the transformation of trees and autumn just provides a rich landscape for curiosity and hands-on investigation! Just go on a hike this fall with a child! Their delight in fall’s treasures gets them excited!!! Enjoying creation, learning and listening, is what God intended to thrill us with! To teach us! Enjoying HIM was His intent from the beginning of time! Get excited about life! Hold some acorns! Be in awe of your Maker! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is cauliflower. Cauliflower is technically a flowering plant. However, the cauliflower we eat is harvested well before it blooms. The head of a cauliflower, tight clusters of undeveloped floral tissue and stems, is also known as the curd. When cultivating cauliflower, its broad leaves are traditionally pinned over its newly formed head; a process known as blanching that gives white cauliflower its characteristic color and mild flavor. California leads the country in cauliflower production producing around 90 percent of the total supply as its warm, consistent climate allows for year-round cultivation. Nearby Arizona also produces a respectable crop. Cauliflower will keep for a few weeks if kept dry and covered in the refrigerator. Cauliflower is packed with Vitamin C: One cup of raw cauliflower provides more than half of your daily recommended value. It also has a good amount of potassium and fiber. The bright white color represents innocence, mental clarity, and the shedding of past grievances to start fresh. The white crown of cauliflower can become a lovely reminder of forgiveness. Its whiteness brings to mind a heart washed clean, while its nourishing purpose invites us to consider how God’s mercy sustains us. “Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, Who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies.” Psalm 103:3–4. In this psalm 103, which is my favorite, forgiveness and a crown appear together. God forgives our sins and crowns us with lovingkindness and tender mercies. What a tender picture of being received by Him!! Forgiven, cherished, and surrounded by compassion! Never harsh or refuses our contrite heart of confession and brokenness! Forgiveness can grow alongside wise boundaries; it does not require us to call wrongdoing good or restore trust before it is earned. But it does bring nourishment to the soul. Hope for the future and cleansing to the mind. So enjoy some cauliflower and think on the crowning of white tender mercies and lovingkindness! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is quarter horses. Now, I love horses but this particular breed comes with many wonderful characteristics. And I was the owner of one in my youth. A quarter horse that I named Misty. The American Quarter Horse is world-renowned for a deep, almost eager desire to connect with humans and work as a true partner. While all horses can form bonds, Quarter Horses are uniquely celebrated for an incredibly gentle, cooperative temperament that owners often describe as a genuine desire to please and “be a blessing.” This unique sense of loyalty and willingness stems from a perfect blend of history, genetics, and their famous mindset of being steady keepers of working with its owner or those they are serving. Extremely intuitive to people’s feelings and desires to comfort, encourage, and serve. They have a deep sense of loyalty and safety and they take immense care to protect you. Whether you are a professional cowboy, a child learning to ride, or someone looking for emotional comfort, the Quarter Horse adapts its energy to match its rider. They are notoriously patient, often slowing down or stepping carefully if they feel a rider losing their balance. They give 100% of their athletic power, turning on a dime and sprinting with incredible heart. This versatility feels like a gift because the horse actively tries to be exactly what you need in that specific moment. Quarter Horses are highly social and form strong, distinct preferences for “their” human. They show their loyalty in unmistakable ways. While some horses run away when it is time to work, a Quarter Horse will often walk right up to you in the pasture, ears forward, eager to see what the day holds coming toward the gate to greet you! They’re good minded with a willing spirit. Anyone who’s ever owned one would testify of their affectionate ways and good nature. Soooo, it’s Sunday! Let us be like a quarter horse! And “serve the Lord with gladness!” Psalm 100:2. Feel the partnership with God, the pleasure of doing something together!!! Serving others coming towards them to be a blessing! Let’s go! Giddy-up now! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is Paris Mountain in Blacksburg. The mountain seen from the Catawba Valley. This Paris Mountain is located in Montgomery County near Ellett Valley and the North Fork of the Roanoke River. It stands much taller at 3,002 feet and is a prominent part of the local skyline right in the backyard of the Catawba and Blacksburg areas. Locals often note it was likely named after early settler George Pearis rather than the French city. There is also a historic residence known as Paris Mountain House located on Paris Mountain Farm near Blacksburg, Virginia. If you are driving along Route 311 or hiking parts of the nearby Appalachian Trail (like the famous McAfee Knob or Tinker Cliffs on the opposite side of the valley), Paris Mountain is a major anchor of the rolling mountain horizon to the south and west. I love driving along there this time of the year as the leaves change. Now the fall peak has not happened yet, but I took this picture yesterday at a spot I like to go to every now and then. It is also the mountain where my brother-in-law drove us up on my first visit to Blacksburg where he, his wife, and my future husband and I went for a picnic over forty three years ago! So as I look at it, it also holds a fond memory. Mountains offer a profound sense of perspective, quietude, and renewal that naturally lifts our minds above daily worries and routines. Gazing across vast ridges and high peaks makes our human struggles feel smaller and more manageable, turning our focus toward enduring beauty and our loving great God and Creator. Psalm 121, Psalm 19, Psalm 90. Naturalists and writers like John Muir noted that mountain air, wind, and open space allow everyday stresses to “drop off like autumn leaves”. Across generations and traditions, towering peaks have long served as symbols of God’s permanence, refuge, and our higher hope, reminding us of a strength larger than ourselves. It also causes awe and worship for our great and mighty God. Just like the hymn, “How great Thou art!” In awesome wonder!!!! So slow down. Drive to the mountains. Take in the views! Rest your weary heart and mind because that Creator so loves us!!! Wow. by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is yellow cats! On my way to the fitness center one ran across a yard and well, cats and dogs are pretty fun to watch run and play. Now, yellow or ginger cats officially called red, cream, or orange tabbies by cat registries are unique felines defined by distinct genetics, patterns, and personalities. Every yellow or orange cat has tabby markings (stripes, swirls, or spots) and the classic “M” shape on their forehead because of the agouti gene; a solid, patternless orange cat does not exist. About 80% of orange cats are male because the gene responsible for the orange color is located on the X chromosome. Their bright color comes from pheomelanin, the same pigment that causes red hair in humans! How about that? As they get older, many orange cats develop small, harmless black freckles on their noses, lips, or gums called lentigo. Yellowish orange cats are widely known for being chatty, affectionate, playful, and attention-seeking “Velcro cats” who bond closely with people. ☺️An indoor orange cat typically lives between 12 and 18 years. These cats are strongly tied to the sun, warmth, and high-frequency vitality. A running orange cat represents active, glowing energy sweeping into your path! Soooo, I’m choosing from that yellow cat bounding along my path to be a reminder to lift my eyes and welcome what God gives. That light and blessings are running towards me today! Here we go now! Today’s creation choice is border collies. Border Collies are medium-sized, high-energy working dogs originating from the Anglo-Scottish border region. Their history is they were bred in the 1700s and onward along the hills of England and Scotland to herd sheep and livestock. Border Collies are renowned for their unmatched ability to listen to and execute a master’s commands. They are highly tuned into their handler’s tone of voice, slight body shifts, and even changes in mood. A slight change in a hand gesture can be interpreted by a Border Collie as a completely separate, new command. Watch a border collie working with a shepherd. Its eyes are alert, its movements purposeful, its attention fixed on the next instruction. It has energy and ability, but its work depends on listening. What a beautiful picture of a heart attentive to God! Our Creator has given us minds that can learn, bodies that can serve, and hearts that can love. Yet our abilities need His direction. We can become so busy responding to everyone’s needs that we forget to pause and listen to the One who knows where we should go. Being needed everywhere does not mean we are called everywhere. The Shepherd can help us discern when to move forward, when to wait, and when to rest. So as we face this day, let us not move ahead without listening to God’s Voice first! We need His instructions from His Word. We need His Spirit’s Voice to speak that we may do our work with skill, wisdom, and with Him as our compass. Let’s go! What a beautiful dog with amazing gifts to use for farms, sheep, and useful care! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Because I live in the country, occasionally I’ll leave my blinds up at night. I do like looking out at the nighttime scenes and sometimes when I wake up in the night, I’ll even go outside and stare at the moon and the stars and worship my wonderful Creator God. Well the other night, I got up and glanced out the window, and a deer was right there eating my tiger lilies! It startled me a bit, but hey, I said, “Well hello there!!!!” And if you’ve been following my posts you know this summer I’ve sort of had a pet deer which I named, “Chesterina!” At first, the deer reminded me of Chester on Gunsmoke, the western black and white series on tv- Matt Dillon’s sidekick! But then oh my, I realized it’s a doe! So I had to change its name to Chesterina!!! 😁☺️ So I said, “Hi Chesterina! I see you’re eating my tiger lilies!!!” So naturally, I decided to read about this choice of food for the deer. It says that gardeners frequently note that deer eating tiger lilies in the fall is a clear sign of seasonal desperation and rising herd pressure. While tiger lilies contain bitter compounds that make them less appealing than summer favorites like hostas or daylilies, autumn forces deer to completely shift their eating habits. By fall, the tender forest understory, wild berries, and lush grasses die back. When natural foraging options dry up, deer experience high nutritional pressure and will eat almost anything left standing to build fat stores for winter. Experienced gardeners emphasize that if deer eat tiger lilies late in the fall, it is actually the least damaging time for the plant. By autumn, the bulbs have already stored most of the energy they need for next year. You should leave any remaining stems to wither naturally. The spiritual meaning of a deer eating tiger lilies in the fall represents softening your fierce ego and anchoring your personal power through grace during a time of major transition- like the changing of seasons. Deer represent innocence, intuition, grace under pressure, and courage to remain soft-hearted in a demanding world. So as life changes, culture changes, time continues on, we still can remain peaceful in God’s amazing provisions! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted

Today’s creation choice is white doves. Doves are amazing animals. Their capacity to find their way home over hundreds, even thousands of kilometres is unrivalled in the animal kingdom. This uncanny ability has seen them used for centuries to deliver messages for royalty, military leaders and other notable figures. Training of these magnificent birds dates back to our earliest time in history. Today they are no longer used to deliver important messages, however their use is still valued through many animal-related services. Doves are generally slightly smaller than Pigeons but have longer tails. Doves have an excellent knack for adapting themselves to almost any environment. The only places they are not found are in places of extreme conditions such as deserts and the Antarctic. To see a white dove is a lovely sight!!! Reminiscent of the dove returning to Noah’s ark with an olive branch, seeing one can indicate that a difficult period is ending and a fresh start is beginning. Its bright white feathers can also symbolize a clean slate, spiritual clarity, and honesty. Because doves mate for life, they also symbolize fidelity, loyalty, and deep partnership. But the psalmist says this, “Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.” Psalm 55:6. Like, man! “I wish I could just run away from all this mess of life, and fly away like a dove!” David understood the longing for peace. When his heart was overwhelmed, he wished for wings like a dove. Perhaps you understand him: If only I could rise above this burden. If only my heart could rest. We may not receive wings to escape our circumstances, but we can receive strength to face them. His sustaining care can meet us in the very place where we feel worn down. So here is the instructions instead, “Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and He shall sustain thee.” Psalm 55:22. To cast means to throw!!! We throw our burdens at the cross! The song is true! Burdens are lifted at Calvary! He took them all there ahead of us! He knows! He cares! God loves us! by @aheartdevoted
