I had the honor of briefly meeting her at C2E2 in 2024. We talked a bit about her daughter, her film roles, and she gave me her autograph and a picture, but that was about it. Looking back now, I certainly was a bit nervous, but she was real kind, and I kinda wish I had said more words of encouragement or how she was a great mom to her daughter or something...

I'll always remember her from A Bug's Life, Until Dawn, and the Scream films; while I know others will remember her from Heroes, Remember The Titans, or Nashville. She had a lot of great roles, and I'll always have her book and the time I got to meet her, but there's no question she'll be missed...

So for those looking for something to fill either their 4th of July weekend or the following one, I definitely encourage you to check out @musicalmasquers upcoming production I'm a part of at @thebendtheater : 1776. If you took a social studies class at some point in school, you probably saw the 1972 film version with the great @_williamdaniels as John Adams. Always a fun watch for myself! And I promise our production will include the same fun, whimsy, humor, and historical allure the film may have brought you. Otherwise, I say what better way to celebrate the 250th milestone than seeing how it all came together? It'll be a grand time had by all!

So for anyone looking for something to do this coming weekend, the annual @milwaukee_horror_con is going to be hosted at the Baird Center in downtown Milwaukee. This event for any horror fan is always hosted twice a year in March/April and September/October, usually at the hotel by the airport, but they've been able to move it to an even bigger venue this time around!

And they always got some great folks in attendance! At the previous ones, I had the honor of meeting the likes of @alex_vincent and @christineelisemccarthy (Child's Play), @rossmarquand (The Walking Dead and Avengers films), @frankygofficial (Saw 2), @thommatth (Friday The 13th Part 6), and others, and the line up this time around is pretty great too!

Given the date of the weekend, they're also basing it around the Friday the 13th franchise, with many guests from those films, and an event on Sunday where they'll try to set a world record for most people in one location dressed as Jason Voorhees. 🔪🩸

So definitely an event worth attending! Usually for something like this, you'd have to head down to Rosemont Illinois for the one they have in August. But they've finally been able to bring such an event to our neck of the woods, and hopefully the more attendance they get, the bigger they'll be able to make it in the future...

Remembering last week Saturday before my week started to slip into insanity. And it was a pretty good time! It was their last time doing this particular event, but I'm glad I was able to attend it. A special thanks to @awkwardnerdevents for hosting the whole thing, and if the last slide is any indication, the event replacing it next year is gonna be out of this world!

So for someone who's seen all the XMen related films with his dad since he was 8 (practically a father-son tradition,) this was pretty big for me. Took a half day off work, stood in teen-degree weather for 2.5 hours or so, and couldn't get the proof up till now; but definitely worth it!

Real quick and professional though! No time for conversation or autographs as so many thought. He just handed us the ice cream, took a quick pic, and that was that. Not to say Hugh didn't try when some asked though. His cheery energy overflowed wherever he was. Real tall guy too!

A huge thanks to @koppsfrozencustard and @orientaltheatremke for hosting the man, and an even bigger thank you to @thehughjackman for visiting our fly-over state! I know you usually have to drive down to at least Chicago for this sort of thing, so it's always great when the larger than life folks visit our great neck of the woods. Hope he enjoyed Milwaukee and by extension Wisconsin for as long as he could!

And if anyone ever wants any heads up when someone is coming, definitely let me know! Only got a week or two notice of this time myself!

And go see Hugh's film Song Sung Blue on Christmas Day or after if ya'll need to fill the gap between then and New Years!

Not quite the physical specimen Mr. @thehughjackman is, and I kinda fudged it with the hair (should've kept my sideburns from the week before,) but I think I pulled it off pretty decent.

So last weekend, I had the privilege to attend Milwaukee's first ever Nostalgiacon, a convention of acting/voice acting talent from the 90s/early 2000s era, so a lot of the great folks I grew up watching/listening to on cartoons and such.

Some of em included @martygrabstein (Courage The Cowardly Dog,) @matthill_inspireofficial , @samuelvincentkhouth , and @tony.sampson17 (Ed, Edd, and Eddy respectively,) @greydelisle and @thejohndimaggio (WAY too many to list!,) and more which I'll include in a part 2.

All in all, they were some great people, happy to spend some time with their fans, share stories, and have some laughs. And I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet so many when I otherwise wouldn't have been able. Hopefully, it was one of those events which helps bring more big events and big names to our neck of the woods, as I know a flyover state like ours doesn't get too many!

And if there are any sorta people any of you guys would wanna meet, definitely drop on over to @thenostalgiacon and make some suggestions! Ya never know who they'll get!

So while at #milwaukeecomiccon the previous weekend, I stumbled upon a little piece of childhood PTSD, and decided to bring it on home with me! Think it might be broken though, cuz needless to say, I'm still around and kicking a week later, haha!
