BREAKING: Saudi Supreme Court has set aside the death sentence against Sri Lankan Anojan Sivarasa.

A young Sri Lankan facing execution over a deleted Facebook comment has just been given a second chance at life.

Deputy Foreign Minister Arun Hemachandra announced that the Supreme Court overturned the death penalty ruling on 13 October after sustained diplomatic and legal efforts by the Sri Lankan government.

This is a massive relief for Anojan, his family, and everyone who followed the case. The Sri Lankan side thanked the Saudi government for its cooperation, along with the ambassador, Foreign Ministry officials, the Bureau of Foreign Employment, and both the Sri Lankan and Saudi legal teams.

Further details on his exact legal status and next steps are still pending, but for now the death sentence is off the table.

A life was hanging by a thread over a social media post. Today, humanity got a rare win. 🙏

A Muslim mob in Pakistan just burned down a Christian pharmacist’s house and shop after he was accused of sharing a “blasphemous” video.

Police arrested Kamran Masih (40, father of three) in Gharial Kalan village, Sheikhupura, Punjab, on Thursday night. The next day a mob set his home and pharmacy on fire.

More than 35 Christian families fled their homes in fear of further attacks. Police later arrested over 15 people involved in the arson.

This is the pattern keep repeating for minorities in Pakistan

Hamam al-Hammami, the Omani co-pilot accused of attacking the captain of FlyDubai Flight 1073, had previously been barred from flying in Oman after authorities raised concerns about his alleged radicalization.

The 60-year-old Irish man who threatened an Australian Jewish couple 🇦🇺 in a supermarket was ARRESTED at his home in Avignon yesterdy and taken into police custody.

During the antisemitic incident, he told the Jewish tourist:

“I’m sorry H*tler didn’t finish the job.”

He was also heard shouting “COME BACK H*TLER!” before threatening the man’s partner with “a b*llet in the head.”
