Last winter, I had the chance to attend @omarkhairatofficial orchestra at the historic Abdeen Palace in Cairo 🇪🇬
A memorable evening where timeless music met one of the world’s most beautiful landmarks. Listening to his compositions in such a remarkable setting made the experience even more special.

Some people are told who they are by the world around them. Ahmed Emad (@ahmedemadals) always already knew. Raised in Sharjah on Shakespeare recitals and afternoons spent wandering the courtyards of the old city, he grew up understanding that art was always the destination for him.

Today he is the Public Programming Specialist at the highly anticipated Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, following three years at Louvre Abu Dhabi. His figurative paintings, built in oils, pastels, and charcoal, explore what the body says when words fall short.

Happy to share that I have got my Master’s Degree in Museology, New Media and Museum Communication from IULM University.

I am also very proud that part of my thesis on curating sounds in museums and exhibitions was translated and published by Brera Academy, Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, Pinacoteca di Brera Museum under the title:
“Music in Museums of the Middle East and North Africa.”

The research explored:
• Sharjah Heritage Museum - Sharjah
• Umm Kulthum Museum - Cairo

Special thanks to Dr. Massimo Negri, Scientific Director and Member of the Board at European Museum Academy Foundation for his guidance and support, and to my Academic Advisor Erika Colombo.

Grateful for this journey and excited for what comes next 🙏🏼 taken in IULM University - Milan by @ahmedemadals
