Celestial Symphony: Milky Way, Comet, Venus, and Meteors! Lately, I’ve been chasing every astronomical event I can. October 2024 has been packed with wonders—from the vibrant Aurora and the mesmerizing Hunter Supermoon to the passing of Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan–ATLAS), also referred as 'Comet of the Century,' and the peak of the Orionid meteor shower. But last night was truly special. I managed to capture a rare moment: the Comet, Venus (the brightest 'star' in the picture), the Milky Way, and shooting stars, all in one frame. This comet won’t be visible again for another 80,000 years, making it a once in a lifetime sight. It was around 10 degrees and a bit windy, but the skies were mostly clear, and the conditions were perfect for stargazing. I drove about 1.5 hours hoping to capture the comet. On the way, a few clouds started rolling in from the West—right where the comet was predicted to appear after sunset. Fortunately, by the time the sunset, only a few clouds remained near the horizon (bottom of the image). I couldn’t see the comet with the naked eye, and I almost gave up on capturing it. So, I shifted my focus to the Milky Way, the meteor shower, and the countless stars overhead. But while taking a long exposure shot, the comet appeared in the frame! Voila! All my tiredness from the long day and drive, and even the cold, vanished with the excitement. I’m amazed at how much is hidden around us. I saw so many meteors streaking in one direction, and even caught a few shooting stars in this image. It was truly a night to remember! #MilkyWay #Comet #Venus #MeteorShower #Astrophotography #NightSky #CelestialEvents #Stargazing #NightPhotography #LongExposure #SpaceLovers #Supermoon #ShootingStars #SpacePhotography #CometOfTheCentury #AstronomyPhotography #MilkyWayChasers #travel #travelphotography #Canon #Sydney #Australia #BlueMountains #Sunset #astro #universe #space #C2023A3 #Tsuchinshan by @ahmedwkhan
