Just in case you missed our Summer table !

A Little More Time for the Berries

Berry season never stays long enough.
Raspberries are especially delicate—beautiful one moment and seemingly gone the next. Strawberries, too, arrive in abundance and then slowly disappear from the market.
So when the berries are beautiful, I make jam.

Into my blue cast-iron pot they go, slowly cooking down. Stirring, skimming the bubbling top, waiting for that moment when fruit and sugar become something altogether different.

There is something I love about preserving what is fleeting.

And months later, opening a little jar brings the season back to the table.

At AHMESA, we love jam and toast. Homemade jam, good bread, perhaps a little butter—and the simple pleasure of knowing you made it yourself.
A little more time for the berries.

Tiny Harvest

Our little Italian fig tree finally gave us her first tiny harvest.

We watched the fruit slowly ripen among rain-covered leaves, waiting for those first figs to tell us they were ready. And then—the simple pleasure of reaching into the branches and gathering them by hand.
Not many. Not perfect. But ours.

There is something deeply satisfying about eating from what grows close to home. A handful of figs, a beautiful plate, and suddenly an ordinary moment becomes a small celebration of the season.

This is the kind of abundance we love at AHMESA—not necessarily more, but something grown, gathered and savored with intention.

From our little fig tree, to the table. 🌿

Traveling tableside… one beautiful book at a time.

Our curated cookbook collection has been freshly replenished at INCASA Decor in Astoria.

These are the books we love to live with—not simply recipes, but journeys through place, culture, color, markets, kitchens and the rituals that bring us together around the table.

Discover a new destination. Bring home a new flavor. Leave a beautiful book open on the table and see where it takes you.

And while you’re there, explore our AHMESA artisanal sea salts and signature spice blends—little invitations to travel through taste.

“Come to the table.”

A passage between coasts!

AHMESA was born from a love of traveling tableside—of wandering markets, discovering makers, tasting something unfamiliar, and bringing a little of that experience home.

A cookbook from Spain.
Sea salts and spices inspired by the Mediterranean.
European linens meant to be rumpled and lived with.
Objects gathered along the way.

We believe the table doesn’t have to belong to one place. It can carry many places, many stories, many hands.

Layered rather than perfected.
Collected rather than coordinated.
A table that feels traveled, generous and alive.

Because sometimes the most beautiful souvenir isn’t something we place on a shelf.

It’s something we bring to the table.

Ahmesa — Traveling tableside.**

What we bring home from a journey is rarely just a thing.

From our journeys through Mexico, a handwoven market tote—bold with color, texture and the unmistakable beauty of something made by hand.

We love objects like this. Pieces that carry a sense of place. The hand of the maker. The colors of a market. The memory of wandering somewhere new and discovering something you didn’t know you were looking for.

Filled with lemons and pomegranates, it feels right at home in the world of AHMESA.

Because we believe the things we gather along the way become part of how we live when we return.

Found along the journey. Brought home to the table.

AHMESA — Traveling tableside.

Before the Tomatoes Are Gone🍅

There is something endearing about the ritual of canning—the quiet understanding that the season will change, so we gather what is plentiful now and preserve a little of it for the months ahead.

Summers on my grandparents’ farm meant picking tomatoes, peppers, string beans and whatever else the garden had given us in abundance. We would bring everything back to the carport to be hosed down and cleaned.

I can still see the tomatoes soaking in my grandmother’s enormous enamel bucket—their red tops bobbing up and down, each one seemingly fighting for its place in the pool.

She called them simply **“canned tomatoes.”**

And one of the first dishes of the harvest was always stewed tomatoes. Tomatoes from the garden, fresh corn, okra and smoked meat simmering together. Sometimes she would cube a few potatoes into the pot, giving the broth a little more body.

Simple food. Garden food. Food that followed the season.

All these years later, when tomato season begins to fade, I find myself returning to that same ritual.

Fresh tomatoes. Basil. A little AHMESA seasoning. A pot simmering on the stove. Jars waiting nearby.

Making tomato sauce now is partly about what we’ll eat later—but it is also about memory. About honoring abundance while it is here. About putting summer into a jar and knowing that months from now, when the garden has gone quiet, we can open one and taste our way back.

AN ERA OF ELEGANCE
From AHMESA’s Guest House Table Collections*

Traveled. Sourced. Collected. Preserved.

There is something extraordinary about vintage flatware—the craftsmanship, the weight in the hand, the beautiful formality of another era.

Our current collection has been gathered from France and England, each piece carrying traces of the tables and traditions that came before us.

We collect them not simply for their age, but for their beauty and the possibility of giving them another life—bringing the elegance and craftsmanship of the past forward to inspire “a new era of tradition at the modern table.”

These are true finds. No extras. No reproductions. Once a piece or collection is gone, it is gone.

Collected with love for AHMESA’s Guest House Table Collections.

A Blue That Belongs to the Mediterranean

There is a blue that travels with the sea—from Mediterranean shores to the ports of North Africa. A color woven into a life shaped by water, food, trade, culture and gathering.

Our rustic embroidered fish placemats carry a little of that spirit to the table. Only a very limited edition remains.
Alongside them, Mediterra by Ben Tish takes us on a culinary journey through the islands and shores of the Mediterranean—through food, culture and heritage.
For AHMESA, these are more than companions for the table.

They are invitations to travel, cook, discover—and experience the Mediterranean through the stories we share around it.

Both available from AHMESA. 💙

The Textile Journey
Collected along the way.

One of my greatest pleasures with AHMESA is discovering textiles—the weave, the hand, an unexpected color, a beautiful edge, or a technique that immediately makes me stop.
Our textile journey has taken us through France, Italy, Sweden, Lithuania, India, North Africa and beyond, bringing together 100% cotton and linen pieces that reflect different traditions of making and living.
Some are quiet. Some wonderfully colorful. Some perfectly imperfect.
And many are found only in very small quantities.
That is part of their beauty.
Small batches. Limited editions. Pieces with a sense of place.
