POSTS STORIES REELS

Private walking tour of Newcastle for a lady from Dublin. We finished at Fenwick’s Christmas window. The Gruffalo’s child is the theme this year. Brings back memories of playing the cartoons for children as a National Trust volunteer. I was reciting the story in my sleep after a full day of it #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Wonderful coach tour today Literature and Tv for visitors from Bath. Morning tour of Jarrow and South Shields telling Catherine Cookson’s life story and tv filming locations. Afternoon tour of North Tyneside and Newcastle on a Vera location tour. Happy tour happy guide. #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Good for the soul. A wonderful afternoon in the Laing art gallery Newcastle. Viewing their Pre-raphaelites exhibition. Bliss #newcastle by @ahnorth15

I’m lying down in a darkened room after all the excitement of St James’ park this morning. My lovely colleague Jacob was on his last tour today. Will miss him. My manager gave me lots of new uniform, always lovely to get new kit. We saw the practice launch for the new version of the Blaydon Races and Wor Flags have a lovely surprise in the East stand. Finishing the tour on level 3 the Directors area we met some legendary players here to watch the match. Les Ferdinand, Bob Moncur, John Beresford and Shola Ameobi. Les stayed for photos which was very nice of him. I forgot to get a photo myself as too busy taking photos for the tour. 🙄Heavens Les Ferdinand is a very handsome man and embarrassingly I think I told him several times. 🖤🤍🫶#NUFC Then I saw the players come into the car park. Just too exciting for one morning. by @ahnorth15

Last cruise call for this year. Aida Sol at the Port of Tyne. I took a lovely set of German visitors to a gloriously sunny Durham and the Cathedral. Haven’t been for an age so lovely to see it again. We ended our trip at the Angel of the North. Happy visitors happy guide. #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Another day another talk. The Word in South Shields for the heritage group. 90 years since the Jarrow Crusade. Proud to tell the story of the reason 200 men walked to London to ask for work. I’m supposed to be professional but emotional giving this talk today. #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Fun at North Shields library presenting my Dark Tales talk about witches, murders and ghosts. Well received by the sell out audience. Even a waiting list too. I hope they don’t have nightmares. 👻👻👻👻 #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Very early start this morning to be interviewed on BBC Radio Newcastle’s breakfast show hosted by Matt Bailey. We were discussing AI guides compared with real guides. I always think you are only going to get local stories, personal experience, humour and care from a person rather than a computer. Not sure why I was bending forward in this photo but my back is currently killing me. 🥺#bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

October 5th 1936 200 men from Jarrow marched to London to hand in a petition asking for work. Palmers ship yard, the main employer of Jarrow, was closed as a consequence poverty and starvation followed. 14th October at The Word in South Shields I will be telling their story. #JarrowCrusade #JarrowMarch #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Aida Sol cruise ship moored on the River Tyne. I took their guests on a coach trip up the Northumbrian coast to Alnwick Castle. Delightful to see the wonderful staff at the castle again. Always fun to watch broomstick training at Hogwarts. 🧹 🧙‍♀️ #bluebadgetouristguide by @ahnorth15

Very lucky to have a kind friend who gave me this Lindisfarne Gospels plate he spotted in an antiques shop. I present talks on the Gospels and take tours on Holy Island so this is very special. by @ahnorth15

Just completed a two day tour with a delightful couple from Guernsey. Sunday we visited Lindisfarne with tales of Anglo Saxon kings and saints, Viking attacks and the Normans. Today we went Bamburgh Castle and Village. Our final stop was the RNLI Grace Darling museum. Happy visitors happy guide. #bluebadgetouristguide #bamburgh #lindisfarne by @ahnorth15
