My voter guide to state propositions, and county ballot measures and propositions.

I read the actual text of the bills for most of the more controversial propositions to give you a more in-depth answer of why I am against it. Feel free to comment or ask questions if anything is unclear.

Edit: I accidentally switched the descriptions of Props 4 & 5 making this graphic but it’s still yes on both!

Edit: I revised my recommendation on Charter Amendment LA to neutral. Looking further into the language and going into the Charter Commission’s proposals the park land sale proposal was not included in the amendments. I retract my prior opposition to it based on that research. More information here: https://reformlacharter.lacity.gov/resources-materials/approved-charter-language.

I think we should oppose PRK because it makes a rigid requirement to devote a sizable chunk of the budget for Parks. The budget needs flexibility to respond to needs, and there is no guarantee the budget will be properly managed. The city conducted a park assessment that cost $4 million. Griffith Park makes millions off parking but isn’t transparent on how it is spent. I’ve asked the Controller to do an audit on the Parks Department multiple times, I used to be on the Griffith Park Advisory Board. We need more oversight over Park spending before we give Parks double the money while other departments are getting cuts. by @aida4la

This platform is deeply rooted in the needs of the people and is shaped by my genuine experiences as an activist, organizer, and attorney in the community for decades.

We deserve a true advocate in City Hall. I have stood shoulder to shoulder with you in the streets, and I will continue to stand with you in City Hall, as a champion for the people. by @aida4la

Our city is facing rising costs while its most vulnerable are under attack. We need someone in City Hall who has our back. Someone with the experience to take on corporate landlords, reimagine public safety, and fast track approving affordable housing. Our current City Attorney is working against affordable housing and with ICE instead of using our resources to protect communities and bring charges against these vigilantes.

As an activist for over 25 years, I have taken on Chevron, border patrol vigilantes, and unethical landlords. As an immigrant raised in working class neighborhoods by a single mother, I have fought against the odds to get a seat at the table. Now, as City Attorney, I will fight for the people of Los Angeles.

Support our grassroots campaign by donating at the link in our bio or at bit.ly/donate4aida. The City of LA matches donations 6x up to $257. Join our movement by signing up to volunteer. Remember to vote June 2!

Vote NO on Prop 37!
The same Big Tech PAC funding Prop 42 and opposing Prop 40 supports Prop 37!
Prop 37 will put more people in debt, it isn’t an effective homebuying program and is instead a second mortgage.
It will create car-centric sprawl that will continue to strain our resources and increase our reliance on fossil fuels.
Vote NO on Prop 37! by @aida4la

Big Tech is spending a lot of money on 3 very important elections in California to oppose 3 working class candidates who will prioritize the environment and working people over landlords and data centers! Make sure to vote for candidates who are funded by the people not the billionaires vote:

✅Sarah Rascón
✅Connie Chan
✅Jessie Lopez

Special appearance by 🐈‍⬛ Cleo who also knows how important these elections are and wants to make sure you are paying attention!!! by @aida4la

Violence is ramping up in the West Bank and Lebanon and a genocidal campaign is becoming normalized. by @aida4la

Why, why do people have to live in this sort of wait for death, a wait for the destruction of living things for power. Why does the only country that’s used nuclear weapons, twice, both times on a civilian population, continue with impunity.

I have spent most of this year in fear and anxiety for what comes next and this horror of horrors should never be on the table for anyone. by @aida4la

War is ecocide. Genocide is ecocide.

When you see armed conflict, always ask, who’s funding that? Then ask what resources are there.

The climate change movement must also be an anti war movement, but also the anti war movement must realize our reliance on fossil fuels and over exploitation of the earth must also be addressed to end wars. by @aida4la

I’m so excited to support Sarah Rascón’s campaign for State Senator because she has the most progressive pro-renter platform that will balance home-building with tenant rights, and the most pro-environment platform and support, and she cares about small businesses.

I used to help low-income small businesses also before I was a housing rights attorney. I am also a constituent and live in what would be her district in Los Feliz so this election also directly impacts me. Her competitor is supported by millions of dollars of Super PACs that are running disingenuous attack ads and mailers. While Sarah is funded by the people.

Vote for Sarah Rascón by November 3! Let’s get money out of politics! by @aida4la

Vote no on the Big Tech funded Prop 37! Funded by the same PACs who opposed Prop 40 and support Prop 42! by @aida4la

Posting again for folks who need it today!!! by @aida4la

‼️TRUTH TIME ‼️Sara Hernandez is not the community people powered campaign she claims to be. She’s benefited from $8+ MILLION in spending from anti-union crypto billionaires, corporate landlords, real estate lobby, oil, tobacco, corporate developers and corporate special interests misrepresenting her positions. She’s a pro-business Democrat who has FAILED to show up to community forums and answer questions. Many of you have asked me where all her money comes from. I made it easy. Here’s all the info. Don’t let these corporations buy your vote. OUR COMMUNITY IS NOT FOR SALE.

Before Nov. 3rd, VOTE for Sarah RASCÓN, a true people powered campaign, funded by real humans, not crypto tech bros, corporate landlords or Big Oil. @rasconforsenate
