T-5 2026 Kansas City Flying Disc Challenge (MA1)

TL:DR
This event went insanely well for me. I came into the event expecting to finish in the middle of the lower half, and I tied for 5th out of 42. Game was shaky in places, but other aspects made up for it. Also, somehow got through the entire tournament without double bogeying or worse 🤯 🤯. (I didn't play a single event in 2025, so my rating was not reflective of my skill level)

Round 1 - WaterWorks - streaks

Got off to a really good start, hitting the pole on hole 1 and parking it. Had an eagle putt on hole 2 and ended up 3 putting, but still took par. Then I got stupid hot, with putting only having a minor role in that (50 footer for eagle, parked the rest), but I was just playing really good golf. Round slowed down a bit, then got pretty bad with 3 consecutive bogeys, but came back by birdieing 17 and 18 to finish off strong. Ended up tied for 3rd, putting me on lead card.

Round 2 - Woodhenge (started on hole 3) - just plain meh

This course never really played that well for me in the past, and that trend continued. Started the round off with a par on the easiest par 4 of all time, and just never really got going. Putting was rough, just missing everything low. Got stabbed in the foot by a really big thorn on hole 7 which was really enjoyable 👍. Just a mediocre round with mediocre putting.

Round 3 - Blackthorn (started hole 5) - the round that could have been

Started out great, going -4 thru the first 6 with a missed putt from 20 feet. Cooled off a bit after, bogeying a really tough hole, but bouncing back with a birdie on an equally tough hole, then got through the hardest hole on the course (15) with a par, so I was feeling great. Then 17 happened. Yanked my drive OB (badly) on one of the easiest holes on the course, and it COMPLETELY destroyed my confidence, and I just never really recovered. Ended up going +5 thru the last 6. One of the most frustrating rounds I've ever played.

Round 4 - Bad Rock Creek FPO layout - comeback

Started off with a solid par, then really yanked my drive on hole 2, but by @aidanplaysdiscgolf

T-12 Capitol City Classic

Overall I'm pretty disappointed in my play. I was plagued with horrendous backhand accuracy and power, and some putting woes. First tournament for me this year, so hopefully I can learn from it and improve in the future.

Round 1
Other than 15 and 17, I would have been towards the top of the field. Some of the backhand issues showed themselves here, but the big issue in this round was putting. I 5-putted on 15 and 3-putted on 17. Mental game held strong though.

Round 2
Here is where the backhand issues really showed their teeth. This is a course that plays perfectly to my strengths, so I was really trying to get something going here, however, I was rounding miserably and my backhand suffered big time. Putting this round was great, mostly because I put all my approaches really close which was nice. Made an 80 footer on 7 for birdie as well.

Round 3
Take all the bad aspects of either round, add wind, and you get this. Backhands were so bad, halfway through the round I stopped throwing them entirely. Also had very little confidence in the putt after I airballed a 10 footer on the 3rd hole I played. Made 2 good birdie putts which was nice. by @aidanplaysdiscgolf

So uhhhh

I won about 500 schmackeroonies by acing hole 2 at prairie center with my firebird. What a way to finish of an otherwise crappy league round.

FINALLY!! First and foremost, i got my first ever skip ace! Star teebird 3 on a 295 foot downhillish tunnel shot. (Hole one, harmon park, overland park kansas.
And then, i got ANOTHER ace. This time a more basic ace, 160 feet, backhand berg. (Also harmon park, hole 5?? (Idk they changed the numbering on this course (it used to be hole 9)
