Founded in 2022, @basel.social.club has quickly become one of the most anticipated events of Art Basel week. Rather than a traditional fair, it transforms unexpected spaces across Basel into immersive exhibitions, performances, installations, and social gatherings, bringing together emerging and established artists in a more experimental, community-driven setting. Over the past years, each edition has adopted a curatorial theme around the building it occupies: 2026 Office 📓👔This year’s edition transformed a vacant multi-story office building near Basel SBB into a temporary social stage for art. Theme: the future of work, digitalization, artificial intelligence, productivity, labor, time, rest, and the changing role of the workplace in contemporary society.2025 Bank 🏦 💰 Occupying a former private bank with more than 100 rooms in Basel’s Old Town, the building itself became the conceptual framework. Theme: value, exchange, trade, wealth, and financial systems.2024 Farm 🌾🧑🏻‍🌾Set across a working farm on the outskirts of Basel, the edition embraced fields, barns, and open landscapes. Theme: land, ecology, agriculture, labor, and our relationship with nature.2023 Factory 🏭 Hosted inside the former Thomy mayonnaise factory, the industrial site became a setting for large-scale installations and performances. Theme: production, transformation, and collective making.2022 Villa ✨The inaugural edition took over an abandoned 1930s villa in Basel’s Bruderholz district, complete with gardens and a swimming pool. Founded in 1996, Liste Art Fair Basel was established as a platform dedicated to discovering and supporting the next generation of contemporary artists and galleries. Held annually alongside Art Basel, it has become one of the art world’s leading fairs for emerging contemporary art, with many participating galleries and artists later gaining international recognition.
