Aiden had a fight scheduled for October 3rd, and the match had been confirmed weeks in advance through the Konquer app. Then, on the day of the fight, his opponent pulled out at the last minute. Unfortunately, this is now the third opponent to do this to Aiden.

Luckily, there was another kid there who was close enough in weight—actually about 4 pounds heavier than Aiden—and we said we’d love to take the fight. We had several family members who came out to watch him, and after all the training and preparation, we definitely didn’t want Aiden leaving without getting a chance to box.

Because it was the other kid’s first fight and they felt Aiden had more experience, they didn’t want to take it as a regular sanctioned bout that would result in a win or loss on their records. So instead of not fighting at all, we agreed to make it a developmental bout.

There’s no declared winner in a developmental bout, and instead of three 1½-minute rounds, they fought three 1-minute rounds. As if a minute and a half isn’t short enough already! 😂

But both of these kids made every second count. They went out there, fought hard, showed heart, and gave it everything they had.
Both kids left as winners, and both walked away with trophies. 🏆🥊

I couldn’t be more proud of Aiden for staying ready and being willing to step in with whoever was available—even giving up 4 pounds just so he could get in that ring. Another experience in the books. 💪🥊
