Not everyone gets Bday posts . I just know way too many folks ! But pictured above besides my sister is my sista 4 life! Sel n Sarra the first people I felt my wife needed to get to know when we got married .Cause that’s family for real for real . From tearing up stages together back in the day to watching her kids turn into some amazing young men and everything in between ! Weddings , funerals , celebrations and grief …been thru it all. 2 years …A mother and her child share such a bond that God could give you the world and it still won’t fill that space left behind by her passing. You don’t get over it or fix it …you just experience a metamorphosis into an entirely different being. While I wish my mother had the chance to see me get married and to see my siblings success expand , I am also glad that I had the chance to do so much with her . I was my mother’s travel buddy for the better part of the last decade . I learned a lot from her. But I never learned how to live without her. That part I navigate daily still feeling new to it. You don’t notice how much of a role in being a man your mother plays . You just automatically attribute that to the father…however that’s not fair. I have come to understand that my unshakable confidence and faith in myself came from my mother being here . I believed her words . I believed when I she told me she prayed for my protection. I believed her when she said I was strong . I believed in HER believing in ME. It’s been the most up and down 2 years of my life . But even in death she still teaches me a lot .
