Bronze Spatula, reimagined.
Cast through lost wax and ceramic shell investment, playing with the line between tool and artifact.

The spiked tips challenge conventional utility evoking ancient implements, speculative design, and sculptural intent. Is it a kitchen tool? A weaponized relic? A commentary on domestic labor?

Functional, symbolic, and unapologetically dull .

Je termine cette résidence avec une réflexion que je n'avais pas anticipée.
La canicule n'a pas seulement transformé les conditions de travail, elle a profondément modifié ma relation au matériau. Elle m'a obligée à ralentir, à accepter de perdre une part de contrôle et à laisser le métal suivre son propre mouvement.
On nous apprend à rechercher la maîtrise et la précision. Pourtant, cette expérience m'a rappelé que les œuvres les plus justes émergent parfois de l'acceptation de l'imprévu. Les traces du geste, de l'adaptation et de l'imperfection ne sont pas des défauts : elles témoignent d'un dialogue avec la matière.
Je quitte cette résidence avec la conviction que laisser davantage de place au matériau, au temps et à l'incertitude permet parfois d'approcher une vérité que la perfection seule ne peut atteindre.
