50 years ago today, at the First Baptist Church in Brewster, NY, these two got married. I’m really glad that they did. ❤️ by @aimeeee.graham

We’re sweaty but still cute 💁‍♀️

I’m going to spare everyone the lengths @cindyhunt1012 has been there for me, but in summary, she is one of a very few close friends who got me through the worst of everything this past. Now she showed up to physically help me make up some lost miles from earlier this week.

Grateful to have had a few friends join the physical part of training, in addition to everyone who has been so supportive and donated, including recent donors @the_audio_czar and @whitelotus01’s momma ❤️

115 days and $2,440 to raise until the @nycmarathon for team @lungevity. You can read my story and get closer to my goal at the link in my bio. by @aimeeee.graham

Overdue selfie because I did 6 miles tonight, 2 of them in the rain. I’m soaked but really happy about it, especially since I finished before the weather got bad.

116 days to go, $2,590 to go. Thank you @fillync for my most recent donation! You can help me chip away at my fundraising goal at the link in my bio. by @aimeeee.graham

A very special update that I hope you will read:

Thanks to recent donations from @bigloudjordan, Ryan Hallquist and an anonymous friend, I crossed the halfway mark of my fundraising goal! While I still have a long way to go in both training and fundraising, I wanted to share some special news with you.

Did you know that even non-smokers can develop lung cancer? In fact, 1 in 4 people diagnosed with lung cancer never smoked. And although it’s one of the leading forms of cancer worldwide, only 6% of research funding goes to lung cancer research. It’s an insane statistic to learn.

I started this journey because my mom lost her battle with lung cancer, but along the way I learned of several others in my community that also lost loved ones that way. I also know a survivor and two currently in the fight. It’s more common than people realize.

So, as I honor my mom on race day, I will also be honoring 9 others. My race shirt will have TEN names (at present) written on the back to honor the lives of people who were loved very much. The families of these people have given approval and, while I am not revealing the names until November 1, please support them if they choose to share beforehand.

Thank you for supporting me, raising funds for lung cancer research, and helping me to honor so many others. I am now $2,790 away from my goal, I would your support if you are able. You can read my story, and donate, at the link in my bio. ❤️ by @aimeeee.graham

I always love working with @stevewariner, and am so glad I got to work the private VIP opening of his art exhibit, THE FLIP SIDE, at @monthavenarts last Saturday. Also got to bring in @its.selena.maria as my right hand for the night.

It’s an incredible exhibit and I hope you all go view it before it closes. by @aimeeee.graham

One year ago, a stranger in Chicago got my kidney. Someone was donating on their behalf, so their kidney went to someone else, and so on. A little shy of three months later, my sister got her kidney from a stranger in Utah. Pretty remarkable.

Donation isn’t for everyone but, all things considered, I would do it again if I could. by @aimeeee.graham

Bill was a rare person - you didn’t even have to meet him to sense the warmth and joy he brought to everyone who knew him. And he was loved by so many.

My love to his family, to the Opry and WSM families, and to everyone else feeling his loss. by @aimeeee.graham

Fundraising Friday: birthday addition

There is so much life in-between these two photos - people and circumstances, my career, so many changes both good and bad. It was one of the two hardest years of my life and, while I am sad that there are people, both living and deceased, who will not be there for future moments, I really am overwhelmed by the ones who stayed. The ones who rode everything out with me - it was A LOT. Both personal and industry friends - when I was shutting down, they wouldn’t let me. They kept me laughing and reminding me of who I am, but also embraced me and let me completely fall apart when I needed to. They refused to let me go through all of it alone and I don’t know how I got so lucky in that department.

Getting back into running after a few years off was a way of getting back to “Aimee.” Much like then, it became my little pockets of time to turn off the world, turn on my music, and help me clear all of the clutter in my mind. Now I’m turning pain into purpose.

The NYC marathon is 170 days away and, thank you to the birthday contributions from my childhood BFF @jazzamatazz914 and my sweet friend @carriabrown, I am closing in on $2,000 raised for Team LUNGevity. While I could not be more grateful to be almost a third of the way there, I’m still a while away from hitting the $6,000 goal. Times are incredibly hard for us all but, if inclined to do so, I’d love your support. You can find more detail and make a donation at the link in my bio. by @aimeeee.graham

Our time is the most valuable gift we can give to others and I couldn’t be more grateful to receive that gift from so many of you this week. Especially those who danced with me on Tuesday (including Luis, who almost gave me a concussion 😂)

Thank you for being with me to dance away the past year and toast to the new one.

Grief doesn’t have a timeline, and I knew this time of year would be difficult- her birthday, Mothers Day, and my birthday all fall on top of each other. It was “our time” of year with little traditions between us. I’m still doing them and will continue to do so. Just because she’s not physically here doesn’t mean I don’t still feel her.

Wishing all of the moms of every form a wonderful Mother’s Day tomorrow. And if you can, say an extra “I love you” or a little tighter of a hug to your mom for the many of us who can’t. ❤️ by @aimeeee.graham
