I’m walking into this school year with a very full and yet a very tired and broken heart.

The night before we left for Texas, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Paisley.

Then, somehow, the very next morning, we loaded up the car and drove over 1,100 miles to drop Harding off for another chapter of his life.

My heart is a little tender, my mamma heart is missing my boy, and my house feels a little quieter without Paisley.

Apparently this week’s lesson was brought to me by the Department of Emotional Whiplash.

I’m so proud of Harding for turning a problem into an opportunity.

As an athlete, he wanted personalized training to improve his performance, but many online coaching programs cost $200+ a month and require year-long contracts. So, he decided to create a more affordable solution.

He’s currently developing an app that provides personalized workouts based on each athlete’s goals - whether that’s throwing harder, improving ball control, getting faster, or building strength.

Right now, he’s looking to see if there’s enough interest to bring this idea to life. If you’re an athlete, parent, or coach, we’d love for you to check out the website and share your feedback!

Happy Birthday, Harding Cole!

You are the family comedian, and honestly, we never know what might come out of your mouth next, which keeps all of us on our toes!

This past year has been full of growth, new experiences, and exciting opportunities, and it’s been a joy to watch you embrace them all. We are so proud of the young man you are becoming: hardworking, kind, funny, and genuinely good-hearted.

This is what teaching is all about.

One student sends me a message inviting me to attend her baptism.

Another sends me a picture from a trip to visit places from The Outsiders when he was in Tulsa.

The greatest part of teaching isn’t the curriculum; it’s the relationships. It’s watching students grow, chase their dreams, strengthen their faith, and allowing you a front row seat to some of the most important moments in their lives.

My students may not remember every lesson I teach, but I hope they always remember they were loved, encouraged, and believed in.

Happy Father’s Day to David.
He is the king of dad jokes and a good ‘back in the day’ story.
He is a man who has a huge heart, is our constant and steady, and always gives sound advice.
Happy Father’s Day to the one that taught our children that no problem is too big, to love fiercely, to always give your best, to never give up, and that no pun is too terrible to be repeated.

I also want to wish a Happy Father’s Day to the young dads in our family too, Braden and Joshua. These young dads are raising our two grandsons with love, dignity, and laughter. by @aimeesheakelly

BREAKING NEWS:
I have officially been chosen by my peace lily.

After months of loyal watering, pep talks, and probably a little over-sharing about my life . . . she has rewarded me with her very first bloom.

I’d like to thank:
– Me (for not overwatering this time).
– The sun (for doing most of the work).
– And this dramatic plant for finally deciding I’m worthy.

We are THRIVING over here, folks. I will now be accepting compliments on my plant parenting skills. by @aimeesheakelly

Dawson is in school to become an orthodontist, and Harding is in school to become a chiropractor.

It is a MUST read.
Project Hail Mary is SO good. I would recommend listening to it instead of reading it. You’ll thank me for this tip.
