Nothing was like it used to be
For
@Columbuscollagecollective 's
super inspiring May prompt:

IMPOSSIBLE ARCHITECTURE

Well well, if it isn't the world's possibly most inspiring word prompt ever 😃 A thousand thanks you to whoever thought
of it!

I'm a huge architecture enthusiast, and literally have hundreds of photos in my architecture stash, just waiting
to be used in a collage:)

I'm originally from a cosy 70's small town apartment block, and currently live in a sturdy 1925 neoclassical brick building near the Helsinki Design District.

In between, I've lived in homes built in the 1890's, 1900's, 1920's, 1950's, 1980's, 2000's, 2010's - among others... And worked in an architecture-adjacent industry.

While most Finns like to hike in the woods, I love long walks in different neighbourhoods from different decades (or centuries).

It's like walking through time!

❤️

July
Just submitted for @contemporarycollagemagazine 's theme of the month:

TYPOGRAPHY

Super happy every time I manage
to complete an abstract collage! The last time I think was in May... Should definitely try more often, it is such an enjoyable flow! 🍓

Here I used the collage in collage method from my May collage challenges, and incorporated pieces from earlier collages I'd almost forgotten.

Turned them into abstract lights & shades... And pulled up my digital folder of 1800's cyanotypes!

If you're ever here, go rummage at Trafik-nostalgisk Förlaget's little shop in the old town:)

Their basement is full of 2nd hand photo books about trains, ships, cars, buses etc - really collagists' dream souvenirs!

My teen and I are on the train to Copengagen now, can't wait:)

Preparing for a collage workshop with youth... And a series of museum workshops currently in the works too.

Operation 'Make some money out of this' has started well:)

(Although the youth workshop is pro bono)

This one is based on the incredible work by @duanetoops ✨️ - I just added the two child figures and the background I think :)

How soothing to be back to my own art practise after a stressful month.

Spent several contented hours with the prompt images put together by @celebratecollagemonth
and here are some first results 🩷

Warm thanks to @barbaragibson_creative for the inspiring prompt page!
🔴🟠🐎

And to @jessadupuis & Suzanne from @arizonacollagecollective for their thoughtfully curated images 🙏🏼

How lovely to connect this way and to celebrate our favourite art form together, across continents.
