Happy October! 🎃 im super pumped for fall.

These are some cleaned sketches from @azi_makes_art 's fashion design workshop! It was such a lovely experience, I loved hearing more about their process. Super excited to dive deeper into character fashion in the future!

Yay! Zuko fanart (and druk!) Fanart!
It kinda drives me crazy that LOK introduces the idea that zuko has a pet dragon and then we just...never hear about it again? I wanna see more druk content immediately.

This post took a lot of research since we dont really see a lot of rooms inside of the palace and the fire nation isnt one to one with any set culture (the creators sighted Thailand, Cambodia, China, India, and Japan as some of the main ones) so its kind of a melting pot of different cultures. I really wanted to make sure I got it as close to the show as possible. I spent a really long time watching the show to get some kind of idea for the general design philosophy.

This piece was also a really big attempt at making backgrounds. Im very very much a character animator but im trying to expand my skills etc. I figure the best way to actually get better at backgrounds is to stop avoiding them in my work. My DMs are 100% open for any advice and feedback on that front :>

Proving with this post that im still alive and creating things lol...now that I've pushed through the post grad burn out I will be posting more frequently i promise.

In other news, despite this being botw link, im super hype for the OoT remake! Im a huge majoras mask fan so im wondering if thats also gonna be revisited. I have so much respect for the original OoT, especially considering how innovative it was for its time. I wonder if there's gonna be some big swings with the remake (hopefully more hits than misses).

Did I ever mention that originally I wanted to make a parasitic horror film for my thesis? It didn't pan out since I couldn't really condense the idea to fit within the 5 minute time line, with the allegories I wanted it would have had to be 10-12 minutes long and we had a harsh deadline. these are some main character concepts for this idea that I made last summer! She was initially inspired by Shelly Duvall and had slowly inched away from that vision with each iteration. I had a lot of fun playing with her proportions and color pallet. This is still a film (or visual novel?) I really want to make, as i find myself kinda mourning what this could have been lol. So hopefully I'll get some use out of her design soon .

Not my usual visual style but I've been working on the visual design of @patito.de.marigold 's Senior thesis these past few months! Dulces Sueños is a horror game based in Guanajuato Mexico! The game was just presented at the IDGA student show case and I'm really excited to get this demo to the finish line. These photos are some of the texture and lighting exploration we worked on last week.

I can't believe I forgot to post this!! Falvey (big auditorium) color grading tests for my thesis film! This honesty made me abandon the heavy textures lol. None of these are necessarily how the final film will look, but they were really fun to compile and see on the big screen.

I also really can't wait to share bits of it with my actual score!
