Ok recap time!

Fav thing we did: Papallacta (the springs) & pre-Colombian Art museum
Least fav thing we did: Jungle walk (HM losing my phone rafting)

Fav thing I ate: Filet mignon (El Chef) & Locro de Papa (Plaza Hotel)
Least fav thing I ate: Bizcochos

And for other fun? stuff that’s different:

- driving is crazy ppl be bumper to bumper going 40 mph & turn in front of people just barely dodging them
- you can’t drink the tap water so you need to get filtered water from a bottle
- so you also can’t drink some smoothies, eat fruit unless it’s peeled, all lettuce/salads, & veggies unless also it’s peeled/cooked
- you can’t flush toilet paper down the toilet most places you throw it in the trash
- Ecuador switched to USD in 2000 & they use $1 coins a lot
- there’s like no public restrooms most cost a dollar & there are people standing outside who’ll give you toilet paper (but if there’s no one you can lwk just bring a tissue or shake it off)
- kids pretty much just got out of school & they go back to school in like September
- there are a lot of stray dogs (I feel like I saw more 3 years ago tho) but I believe many are vaccinated
- yes they eat guinea pigs but any restaurant selling them is pretty far away from the city like none we ate at sold them
- they have really nice bike lanes on the highway that are separated from the road so very cool we should have those
- since it’s on the equator there’s no seasons so it’s 60-70 F all year (in like the city) they just have wet/dry seasons
- the average elevation is probably like a little under 10,000 ft? but obviously it changes from sea level (jungle) vs 16,000+ (Cotopaxi)
- you can only drive on certain days of the week to keep traffic down (so my aunt & uncle have 2 cars with different days)
- senior residents (not just citizens) get reduced plane ticket prices (so my aunt & uncle fly 1st class like all the time)
- there’s a lot of jobs like workers in the parking lot, security guards at markets & the mall, people to pump your gas, etc.
- lunch is the big main meal of the day at like 2-3 pm then a smaller dinner is at like 6-7 pm
- the sun rises at 6 am and sets taken in Cumbaya, Quito by @ainsleysisk

Bro I finally beat hades in hades the video game after having it for like 4 years (and I was on god mode aka super easy mode) 🫩

Also I have to wake up at 6 am today to do CrossFit which I suck at and I haven’t worked out for like in 2 weeks 🫪 taken in Ibarra, Ecuador by @ainsleysisk

So we had like 5-10 minutes left of white water rafting. I did a front flip off the boat. It survived the front flip. I wanted to try doing a backflip. I got pulled up onto the boat. It was a struggle. I guess it's part of the river forever now :') by @ainsleysisk

This time I didn't have to misspell as many Spanish words so that it says them semi correctly (ignore the first sentence though I fixed it and then it undid itself so I gave up) taken in Mindo, Ecuador by @ainsleysisk
