Toronto, what a weekend. It’s hard to put into words what this weekend meant as we celebrated the 77th year of the Canadian International Air Show, your CF Snowbirds 55th Anniversary, and the final flight of the iconic red and white CT-114 Tutor over Toronto.

If you weren’t with us at the waterfront, take a listen to Snowbird 1, Major Maciej “Match” Hatta, as he radios from above and addresses the city of Toronto one final time. There was not a dry eye along the waterfront.

Thank you to all of our performers, volunteers, and guests for making this year one to remember.

DAY 1 COMPLETE! 🇨🇦✈️

If you weren't at our Exclusive Air Show Zone for Day 1 of the 2026 CIAS, you're going to want to be there on Sunday and Monday.

Our day was jam packed with fantastic front and center views of our amazing performers, pilot autographs and meet and greets, ending with our iconic surprise guest as the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum Lancaster flew in formation with your CF Snowbirds.

Let's do it all again tomorrow, see you there!

Back in May the Canadian Forces Snowbirds announced that this year would be the final season in the CT-114. I had a request to put together a tribute style video to play at this years Cold Lake Air Show to celebrate their 55 year run.

It’s hard to summarize what this team has accomplished in that span. Like a lot of Canadians, I’ve watched the Snowbirds my whole life. Airshows, major events, Canada Day and Operation Inspiration - it’s hard to think of anything (other than hockey) that has displayed our national pride with such power and grace.

Getting down to the collection and editing (obviously had to sneak some of my shots in it!) it was a bit overwhelming. I tried to find clips that represented their history, their community impact, their international collaboration, their impact on Canadian pop culture and fans across this great nation.

My experience with the team started with my dad taking me to airshows, then I became mesmerized with them from the documentary featuring the music of David Foster. The past six years I’ve had the privilege of shooting them during the airshows and getting an up close look at the jets and the team.

It’s going to be hard to have them absent at Canadian airshows. They are the anchor of any show.

An emotional moment for me was having this video play on the big screen for fans as the Snowbirds taxi behind me after their last show in Cold Lake.

I hope you enjoy this tribute. I hope you enjoyed their time in the air. I hope the team truly realized what they brought to us Canadians over 55 years!

Some screen grabs from some of my footage from @ciastoronto. I’m very envious of photographers who can shoot and then close crop and edit to get those amazing shots to look even better.

Us video guys are stuck with what we got - and can only manipulate the image so much. One day I’ll shoot with a camera/sensor that I can really ramp up the quality of the shots. 🤞🏽
But to put it into perspective - photographers will generally shoot RAW which can average about 18-20Mbs per shot. That’s a lot of data to work with.
If I shot my 180 frames per second at that size it would translate to 3.2GB a second (180 frames/second x 60) or 197 GB a minute or 12 TBs an hour. 🤯
For CIAS I shot just under 1 TB of footage. Lots to comb through! Stay tuned!
If you look closely (I can’t close crop enough) you can spot the skywalkers on the CN Tower in pink jump suits watching the aircraft fly!

Pretty overwhelmed from the last five days in Toronto. 😮‍💨
Being invited to work the longest running air show in North America was so unexpected.
Not knowing what to expect - I hit the ground running and tried to capitalized on every opportunity and every photo location/op.
Got to work alongside some amazing professionals and volunteers. Was shocked when I asked volunteers how long they had worked the show and they would reply 15-20-50 years!
It’s a pretty amazing crew @lori_duthie has running the show.
Being the Snowbirds last year with the tutor - emotions ran high all weekend. This show has such a history with the Snowbirds - many tears were shed after their final flight today.
A few of my videos played in front of all the staff/pilots/crew and it was pretty humbling. My hope is that they all realize their hard work is why this show has been so successful and I’m very thankful just being a small part of it. Thanks for everyone’s kind words of appreciation.
Was special to see the show being told they were going to be inducted into the Canadian Aviation Hall of Fame - the only Air Show to have that honour.
I shot from roof tops, boats, airports…covered a lot of ground.
But now tired and time to head home. I feel like I’ve been gone for months. Can’t wait to see my family. Later Toronto! ✌🏽#airshowphotography #airshow #aviation by @airshowaccess

Much more to come here. There’ll be some pretty cool Snowbirds related content coming this week but was thankful to come across a cool pic of me filming the line up on the ramp during the 2026 Cold Lake Air Show! I’m behind the camera so much that it’s always a pleasant surprise to see one of me in action! 🤗 Thanks Wing Imaging!

The @f22demoteam on a high speed pass. Note the shock cone above the canopy forming during transonic speeds juuuuuuuuust below the speed of sound.

Those at the 2026 @coldlakeairshow got to see the raptor perform both show days under some dark skies! Which makes for some impressive images!
