Airtime kicked off our Creative Arts program in style this week, getting artist @d_kuir in the studio for a special recording session.

A big thank you to our studio partner @sabresoundstudio for opening up their incredible space for the project.

As for the final product - watch this space.

AIRTIME x VRU

On Tuesday, the Violence Reduction Unit in partnership with Blue Light Victoria announced investment in 17 new violence prevention programs, including the Airtime Cobblebank Basketball Program.

The announcement will allow us to provide an even greater level of support for young people to engage in opportunities across sport, academics and job pathways, including collaboration with the Les Twentyman Foundation to elevate our impact off the court.

This is only just the start.

Early intervention plays a big role in steering young people towards positive pathways, helping prevent crime before it occurs.

Initiatives like the Airtime Cobblebank Basketball program help young people build healthy habits and routines and find a supportive place to connect with community.

That’s why the Carroll Labor Government has announced through the Violence Reduction Unit and our partnership with Blue Light Victoria, we are rolling out 17 new violence prevention programs in communities most affected by youth crime.

This month, Airtime Basketball farewelled Aduto Chipuowuop and Goch Ayiik, who Airtime helped secure college scholarships at the University of South Carolina Salkehatchie.

The pair join Athiei Magok at the school, forming a trio of Airtime and Longhorns alumni on this season's roster under Head Coach Matt Lynch.

Thank you to Brimbank Council for supporting Aduto and Goch's farewell barbecue and runs through our weekly Saturday drop-in program at West Sunshine Community Centre.

We can't wait to see what the trio do across their first college season!
