حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلَوةِ
Come to prayer.
حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلَاحِ
Come to success.

O you who have believed, when the adhan is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah, then proceed to the remembrance of Allah.

Egungu Festival , Ibadan 2025.

Fila kì í ṣe aṣọ lasan.
It is not just a cap.
It is a code, A fold of dignity , A tilt of confidence, A symbol of ‘mo wa nibi ,I am present.

In Yoruba culture, the fila is more than a cap , it’s a silent crown. In this photo, captured at the heart of the Egungun Festival in Ibadan, rows of men sit adorned in their fila. Each fold and tilt tells a story of respect, of identity, of ancestral pride.

Which is your fav?
