POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What I want to say is far too long for Instagram captions, but the heart of it comes down to this first quote.

May all experiencing settler occupation, genocide, & oppression achieve liberation in this lifetime. May the hands & hearts of those who enact horrors upon those oppressed fail.

Many might be feeling "well, what can we do?" A lot more than nothing. Educating yourself is always a good start. Many of us here (in the u.s.) have been indoctrinated into the lies that whiteness touts rather than educated into our personal & collective liberation (Basically, we been lied to & as a result when one learns a history that is different from the lie, they do not want to believe it).

So, Resist in whatever ways you can. Call/email a rep AND CUSS THEY ASSES OUT. Civil disobedience, direct action, march, strike, quit, dont bite your tongue, bite the hand, march, act a damn fool (if you'd like), BOYCOTT THESE RAGGEDY ASS COMPANIES, join a sociopolitical organization, join a UNION, but by all means resist & make some noise. We owe whatever we can provide to one another. Don't lay down or lay back.

*Word to @asiahmae for the first slide quote (hope you don't mind that I snagged it 😬)

Seconde slide: chile somebody tag the artist if you know who made it. Watching or reading any kind of major u.s. based news outlets has been... well, what it's always been. --> a damn mess.

I hope Durand takes home something tonight at the Grammys, but if he doesn't, it is okay. There is no *need* for that approval. Stellar album. Review of BLOOM in my bio. by @aisha_chey

“To the bashful, complicated, aquarian from RVA, thank you most of all.” ✨🕊️🌍 #DAngelo

In the summer of 2022 @faithpennick author of the #Voodoo book as part of the @331.3books series led a roundtable for episode 1 of season 2 on @peacelovecast, a podcast inspired by @thedangelo’s performance on @verzuztv. These tributes by Faith, @aisha_chey, @eriesgrho and myself (@o_d_e_l_l_i_a) are from the closing of part two of the Voodoo Roundtable episode published on August 26, 2022. Years before we knew how little time we had left with D. 🥀

As grief continues to unfold now more than ever I understand how much this community means. This podcast medium is intentional because our recorded voices like lyrics are evidence of our consciousness and existence. Since October 14 the tributes have been non-stop, and I had to pause to really think about a fitting tribute to our soulmate. Many of you have reached out as we collectively navigate this post D’Angelo world with our roses at half-staff. So I invite you to add your voice to the Peace and Lovecast™ tribute by recording your reflection for our Brother turned Ancestor.

A post about “Why We Mourn Our Legends” by @__didiersylvain__ provided me with some clarity and you may find its prompts insightful or just say what comes to your heart. Please keep it to a few minutes if you can, and remember to end your reflection the same way D ended many of his shows, by saying “peace and love.”

Click the link in @peacelovecast bio to record your message, then email the downloaded recording or the link to the recording from the website to peaceandlovecast@gmail.com.

Yours Truly,
-Odellia
