You took an oath by the Lord who created the dry season and the harvest season.
You said you would protect the lives of 242.4 [million] people.
You said the citizens would be happy, and children would experience neither fear nor crying.
You swore to stand firm and unyielding,Regarding matters that concern the protection of lives.
You swore that the poor and the rich would live under the same shade without a doubt.
But today, Nigerians have seen the true reality of all these promises.
I swear, I swear by the Lord who will avenge the mother who failed to save her son.
I swear by the Lord who, in a mere second, destroyed the empire of Pharaoh,
And swallowed Karun (Korah) along with his wealth.
The One who will compensate the families who lost their parents because they had no helper.
I swear by the Lord who breathed life into us, and who will cause us to die and resurrect us after death.
The One who experiences neither drowsiness nor sleep.
The One who beautifies the sky with stars and rotates the affairs of night and day.
The One whose sovereignty and kingdom are absolute and overwhelming.
The One who does not oppress and does not love oppressors.
The Lord who will exact retribution on behalf of everyone who has been wronged.
Certainly, love cannot endure if a family fails to tell each other the truth and continues to commit injustice.
Furthermore, life has gained no profit if worldly power becomes the reason one stands before God carrying the sins of tyranny.
We have cried, and we have lodged our complaint.
We have prayed to the One who alone can bring us a way out.
We know He has answered, and from this calamity we are in, we shall emerge.
But let us remember the day when God will gather the entire world,
Amidst the majesty and sovereignty that He alone created.
I swear by the Lord of Muhammad, not a single drop of injustice will pass without being accounted for.
