Janki is going on tour — to Silicon Valley! My journey started fresh out of architecture school, with a 3m x 3m gazebo, a banner that read “henna tattoos,” and a mission to share my love for henna with as many people as possible. I hit the UK music festival scene, and it worked — there were queues of people waited for a hen tat, and in just 30 days, I tattooed over 1,000 of them. But there was a catch: I was working like a machine and ended up with repetitive strain injury. So I thought, surely there should be a robot that can do this! 🤔 I launched @jankirobotics on a mission to build the world’s first henna tattooing device. 
Since then, we have raised £45,000 funding, partnered with 3 academic institutions, and participated in 7 tech accelerators/incubators locally (UK) and abroad (UAE). 
Most excitingly though, we have successfully built a proof of concept and in the next 12 months, we will launch our pilot to customers.  
The vision for Janki Robotics is simple – Usher in the Future of Tattooing. We want everyone to be able to experience the joy of having commitment-free, chemical-free, and pain-free tattoos that only last 2 weeks. We are targeting a market that is ripe for disruption and creating a new category at the intersection of robotics, beauty, and culture. From 25th - 30th of April, I’ll be in Silicon Valley eager to meet investors particularly those who back daring founders, aren’t scared of ‘hardware’, and have a focus on early-stage companies. Did you know you could ask a beauty advisor for help with trying out products in store? It’s such a great way to help decide what products to invest in and clarify things like the right shade of foundation. Once upon a time, I used to wear coloured eye products but the @fentybeauty one I had was discontinued, so when I saw @benefitcosmeticsuk had coloured mascaras, I had to try it out. Uhm, when @kayali comes to your home turf and invites you to dinner, you put on your prettiest dress and shoes, and head right over!
