Some endings come sooner than you’re ready for. It’s impossible to put into words what this game has meant to me. This sport has been such a major part of my life for so long that it’s difficult to even imagine life without it. Basketball has challenged me, strengthened me, and allowed me to pour my heart into something bigger than myself. It taught me resilience, discipline, sacrifice, and how to keep showing up and putting in the work even when things got hard.

This past year has been incredibly difficult, as I dealt with an ongoing concussion. Due to this, what’s best for my health is not at all what I want or could’ve ever seen coming. I am medically retiring from basketball. Walking away from something you love before you feel ready is an indescribable kind of heartbreak. But i walk away with so much gratitude to this game and the life it created for me.

I’m forever grateful I got to play the game I love. For every teammate who became family, every coach who pushed me, every 5 AM wake up, and every person who believed in me along the way. I am especially grateful for @coachbrisson because you shaped who I am on the court, but more importantly you changed my life off the court, I wouldn’t be me without you. I am beyond blessed that this journey brought me to William & Mary. Thank you @erin_dickersondavis for these past two years and pushing me to be my best self everyday.

Even though this chapter is closing differently than I hoped or ever could’ve anticipated, I will always carry my love for the game that gave me so much.
