✨ Welcome to Aiteall B&B ✨

We’re Éimhín & Jonny – a Clahane local and a “blow-in” from Warrington – raising our little family in lovely North Clare.

Aswell as ourselves we have two kids, Comdhan & Arlo, and our dog Philo, Aiteall is not just a B&B – it’s our home, and we’re so happy to share it with you.

You’ll probably hear the kids or spot Philo snoozing in the sun, but that’s all part of the welcome here 🐾

Truck 1903 - Comdhan and Arlo Miller ❤️

Children helping children.

If hearts this small can be filled with such compassion, kindness and solidarity, then surely the rest of us can do our part too.

Back in July, the kids opened their little shop for Palestine🇵🇸 and kept it going right through the summer until early September.

A huge thank you to neighbours, friends and everyone who stopped as they passed, guests who donated, and took home some of the little treasures and hand-painted stones the kids made. ❤️

Together we raised an amazing €185.

We’re donating the money to @uisceforgaza an Irish non-profit providing clean water to families in Gaza.
€280 provides a water delivery, so Aiteall B&B will be topping up the kids’ €185 to make a full €280 donation.

And if you passed us this summer but didn’t get a chance to visit the little shop — or you’d simply like to support their efforts — I’ll share the Uisce for Gaza donation link too and also #linkinbio

Willie Clancy Week 🎶☀️

We were lucky enough to get some time below in Miltown Malbay for Willie Week 🙏

Soaking up the incredible music, atmosphere, and beautiful sunshine. It's always such a lovely way to experience Clare's musical tradition with people from all over the country and the world! and we're already looking forward to next year!

Over the past year, we’ve made some meaningful progress in sustainability (with plenty more to do):

🍓 Built a new planter to grow more of our own fruit & veg for ourselves and your breakfast
♻️ Reduced our food waste by 44% across both the B&B and our home
🗑️ Cut down on recycling waste too — focusing on reducing before recycling
🐞 Created a bug hotel with our kids to support biodiversity
🌿 Planted blueberry bushes alongside native Irish elder, beech & curly willow to support local wildlife

Everything we grow is nourished by our own compost — made on site using our three-bay system from food waste generated right here 🍃

We’ve also continued to reduce waste across the house:
– No single-use items (refillable toiletries, reusable napkins, no sachets)
– No printed leaflets — all guest info is shared digitally before arrival
– A curated guest guide + daily board with local tips, music, walks & weather

Energy use is one area where we saw an increase last year — and we’re actively working to bring this back down.
Our air-to-water heat pump and ventilation system keeps fresh air circulating while maintaining a steady temperature, so we aim to keep the house comfortable at 18–20°C.

We also encourage small actions that make a big difference:
💡 Switching off lights when not in use
🚿 Taking shorter showers where possible
🍽️ Running full loads in dishwashers and washing machines

Sustainability is a shared effort — and we’re so grateful to our guests for being part of it 🌍
