To say that @carol_rasheed ‘s @tvandfilmmakeupacademy was amazing would be an understatement! She truly cares to see that makeup artists are taught properly. Even if you’ve been in the industry for a minute and need a refresher, I would highly recommend her academy.

I’ve loved @ajamac for so long, I often forget we didn’t actually go to high school together. (Though she was right next door. 😂) I couldn’t let the day end without showing her some birthday love. ❤️

This woman has truly been a Godsend to me. I thank her every time she picks up my call because I KNOW I frustrate her to no end. 😂 But her patience, her kindness and her love are three things I simply could not do without.

And let me tell you something—whenever a Virgo considers you a friend, count yourself lucky! 😂

Stepping out on faith is data. Every time I push a little beyond my comfort zone, I learn something. Less “That’s not my thing,” and more, “Let me try.”

The @blackbeautyroster Beauty Show was such a vibe! I wish I knew how to collect content like many of the other attendees because I just can’t put it into words. I got to make some great connections, learned about a few brands I hadn’t heard of, and came home with three full bags of goodies. I went through them at the end of the night like a kid who just went trick or treating. Can’t wait to see how this event grows over the coming years! by @ajamac

Major congratulations to Albatross, directed by Amandine Thomas, the final short in the Expectations Trilogy with Gerardo Coello Escalante, which debuted this January at Sundance Film Festival!

From my first conversation with Amandine and Gerardo, I could feel how much this story meant to them. Being invited to help bring their vision to life wasn’t something I took lightly.

Thank you to our UPM, Amelia Spitler, for bringing me on this amazing project.

✨New Work✨

I bring the same level of care to all talent. Hydrated, prepped, and protected skin always comes first. Every face has different needs, so I rely on observation, touch (with permission), and conversation to guide the approach.

Within our prep window, tattoo coverage was the priority for Joe (actor David Raine), so airbrush was the most efficient path to camera-ready. Airbrushing @ebaperformancemakeup European Body Art Endura Skin for its higher opacity, I built coverage quickly, then brought life back into the skin.

The goal isn’t perfection. The goal is that it reads on camera.

My Aunt Florarene’s journey in this life as we know it came to an end yesterday. You lived 97 years unapologetically. I was made aware that it was coming and was truly at peace when I got to see you one last time. Today, the emotions are flooding. Thank you for all that you have done for me, my mother and grandmother. Going to miss you dearly. by @ajamac

Deborah is a name you hear a lot, but MY Deborah is unmatched! So incredibly blessed to celebrate my mother’s 75th birthday today!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I love you more than you could ever imagine.

I admired you from the time I was a little girl. Watching you sing on the choir, get dressed for a night out, speak up as the Mt. Royal PTA Vice President, and go out of your way to help an elderly person at the bus stop get to their destination. That’s that Cherry Hill in you 😂❤️.

You are the reason I do what I do. You had me in everything! Dance class at TWIGS, piano after school, art classes on Super Saturdays, and camp every summer. I was beat 😂! Eventually, I wanted to quit it all so I could hang out and be ratchet with my friends 😂…and you let me because you’re an ’80s parent and didn’t have the internet 😂.

But seriously, you cautioned me on quitting while still letting me make the choices I needed to make for me—good or bad. You allowed me to learn through my mistakes, and you came swooping in right on time when it was time to get me together!!!

You are the reason I finally graduated from college. Literally making me go up to UB and apply after years of procrastinating ❤️. I leaned into my purpose because you never gave up, even when life kept piling on the challenges 🥹. You never stopped caring for others. You cared endlessly for my grandparents until they decided they wanted you free from the stress of it all 🕊️. And to this day, you still show up for your elders in need. That inspires me more than I can ever put into words.

Most importantly, I admire the moment you realized you can’t do for everyone else and not do for yourself. You started putting you first and made “NO” aa complete sentence. I can’t wait to see what the years ahead bring you…even with your senager tendencies 😂.

You are that unsung hero, Ma. I love you so much ❤️❤️❤️
