@worldwide_festival_sete , you were magic 🤍A little collection of moments from last week in Sète.There are so many people who made this week what it was - everyone working behind the scenes, the incredible artists, and all the friends, old and new, who shared these moments with us. We drove from Lisbon up to @wakinglife.pt, the beautiful festival where he was performing, then continued the journey together toward Miradouro de Zebro - a place that feels suspended between earth and sky.What unfolded there was more than a shoot. It was a slow, luminous moment - a shared breath, a reminder of how simple and expansive a moment can be when you’re in the presence of someone who moves through the world with so much light.And of course… what else would we talk about if not smiles and frequencies? Tokyo flew by like a dream. The best photos will come from my film camera, but for now just some random memories from April in Tokyo. 🤍Some places mean a lot to you long before you ever get there.Before I came to Lisbon, I already knew two names from its club culture: @luxfragil and @avc4324. @luxfragil always felt legendary to me - a place connected to so much music and history. Playing downstairs there now feels surreal to me as a DJ, musicologist and longtime lover of club culture.Happy to share the night and the legendary booth with @gerdjansonofficial downstairs and @___varela___ and @nvno__dj upstairs.Lisbon friends, see you downstairs. This artwork literally made a full circle around the globe, travelled through time, and returned to me in Lisbon in 2026.It all began in 2018, when I started working on my first RBMA festival and we decided to create a tribute to our musical grandfather - the first Soviet electronic music producer @yury.chernavsky .I love assembling the puzzle of a music project, and one essential piece of that puzzle was bringing Yury from LA, where he had lived for 30 years after being expelled from the Soviet Union. Young musicians performed his music at the RBMA festival, showing how important he is to a new generation - that we remember, and that we love.We went on @urgantcom Late Night Show, hung out with festival artists, fully aware that we would most likely never see each other again. What stayed with me were his funny phrases - lines I still recall at random moments.Yury is no longer with us.RBMA is gone.That city is gone.That parallel reality is gone - the one where Larry Heard, Yury Chernavsky, Gigi Masin, me could all end up in the same photo.What remains is this art work made by @d.pantyushin . It appeared in The Note RBMA zine, as visuals during the tribute performance by @shagalov , and in @yury.chernavsky book by @blackboyara and @thewhitelabel.ru .The artwork has completed its journey around the planet and returned to me.Now it will stay on the wall of my Lisbon home. by @ajavybz
