Throughout my career I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of some rally big life moments, new borns Engagements, weddings, and seniors. Anything you can think of I’ve probably done. This session is going to be hard to top.

This is Mrs. Amy, I’ve known her for about 3 years ago. A couple of weeks ago she told me she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. It was then she asked if we could document her journey. I am honored she chose me for this project!

Last week she texted me and told me that her hair had started falling out and she was ready to shave her head. That evening we met & she shaved her head. I’d be lying if I said that I remained professional. I cried like a big ole baby. The way things were set up, she couldn’t see herself. When we handed her the mirror to see herself with her new do I was filled with emotions. But then, I put my camera down and looked at her, I saw a beautiful woman. To be very honest I LOVE her new cut, I think she looks so good! Not only did I see true true beauty, I saw confidence, resilience, strength, optimism, bravery, and an undeniable light that comes from deep inside of her. Most of all, I saw Amy. Her tender heart, her kind eyes, her humor, and the genuine love she gives to everyone around her.

Even in the midst of Amy’s fight, she constantly checks up on me. She encourages me, and is always a listening ear.

The mirror says it perfectly: Amy, you look gorgeous.
Her shirt says it even better: stronger than the storm.

Thank you Jesus for giving me Amy, and thank you Amy for trusting me and choosing me to be a small part of your journey.
