POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I’ve gone back and forth about making this post for many reasons… but here we are.

As many of you know, my husband Derrick unexpectedly passed away. Derrick was my best friend, my biggest supporter, the best husband, best father and truly my whole world. I never imagined we would be here. 😔

Derrick played such a huge role in AJ’s Dog Bakery behind the scenes and in everyday life. To be honest, it’s been hard to show up lately. A business I once poured so much love into alongside him just hasn’t felt the same without him here.

A lot of people have asked if I plan to continue AJ’s, and the answer is yes. AJ’s means so much to our family, and I know Derrick would want me to continue building what we created together. Right now, though, I’m taking some time to focus on myself, my children, and getting our family situated through this transition.

Our website is tentatively planned to reopen in June/July. Our Spring Foodie Challenge will also be postponed and turned into a Summer Foodie Challenge, with more details to come soon.

For current open orders — I PROMISE they will all be shipped out by Friday, May 8th. I will also be out of office May 13–22 as we relocate back to Georgia.

In the meantime, you’ll still be able to grab your pups’ favorite treats from our incredibly supportive local retail partners.

I also want to kindly set a boundary moving forward: while I know many questions come from a place of care, I am not comfortable discussing the details surrounding Derrick’s passing. The people who need to know, know. I ask that this boundary be respected as my family and I continue to grieve and heal.

Thank you all for the love, patience, support, and grace you’ve shown my family during this unimaginable time. We can’t wait to treat your pups again soon. 🤍 by @ajsdogbakery

School is back in session, so of course we had to celebrate the only way we know how—with a themed toppl!

From notebooks and scissors to glue and plenty of snacks, I think Rudy is officially ready for class.

Between his extracurricular activities and keeping up with his studies, something tells me lunch and recess might still be his favorite subjects.

#ThrowbackThursday to our very last market weekend in Colorado 🥹🐾🏔️

Ahhh, that weekend was so incredibly bittersweet. After years of markets, pop-ups, wagging tails, familiar faces, and watching so many of you go from customers to genuine friends, we got to gather for one last Colorado hurrah. 🤎

And in true Colorado fashion… YOU GUYS SOLD US OUT. 🥹😭

But the best part wasn’t selling out. It was getting to hug so many of you, say thank you face-to-face, love on your pups one more time, and tell you just how much your support has meant to me and my family over the years.

Denver will forever hold such a special place in our family AND in the story of AJ’s Dog Bakery. This community helped us build this little dream, watched it grow, celebrated with us, and most importantly showed up for our family with so much love when we needed it most. That is something I will never, ever forget. ❤️

To every pup we’ve spoiled, every human who stopped by our booth, every fellow vendor who became a friend, and every person who supported this crazy little dog treat dream over the years… thank you, Colorado. 🏔️🐶

This chapter may have closed, but you’ll always be part of our story. Colorado raised AJ’s Dog Bakery. Now we’re taking all that love with us into our next chapter. 🐾🤎
