Here’s how I shot “Midtown” by The Filthy Kids 🎥

I recorded the footage at 4x speed, then slowed it back down in post to create that smooth, flowy, dramatic movement.

Such a simple technique, but it completely changes the feel of the shot.

Your love!
It’s the water that I drink.
It’s the air that I breathe.
It’s the fire that burns inside of me.
Your Love!

Probably one of the most fun shoots I’ve ever been a part of.

Huge credit to Jonnie from @TheFilthyKids_tx — he came into this with the entire concept storyboarded and mapped out. Watching someone bring that level of creativity and vision to a project is inspiring, and for me it made directing and shooting this one an absolute blast.

Shoutout to Aaron TerBerg for absolutely crushing the drone work. Every aerial shot you see was his.

What made this project special was the chaos, collaboration, and trust. Some of my favorite moments in the video weren’t even planned—we came up with ideas on the spot that ended up shaping the final cut, including extending the intro specifically for the video.

Nothing beats creating with friends.
