Happy National Gymnastics Day! I guess you can call this my farewell gymnastics post.
Dear Gymnastics, you have been my whole life, my first love, my best friend. I couldn’t imagine if I had not done gymnastics! It not only has become a part of me for life, but it has taught me numerous things. I learned how to push myself when things were hard nor going my way. I learned perseverance and patience when it came to injuries, receiving scores, or just simply trying to learn a new skill in the gym. I learned success and failure. I learned how to believe in myself. I learned grit when it came to my goals I had. I was capable of overcoming boundiries I thought I never could through mental and physical strength. Yes I may have had many injuries including surgery to my knee, but I faced the struggles and pushed as hard as I could to become 1% better everyday and succeed, and I get to take this into facing life challenges. Not everything will go my way in life but I know now how to face it head on!! I am grateful for all my challenges and successes! Not only did I grow as a person, but I have learned the greatest of sportsmanship! I could not have done any of this without all of the friends, mentors, coaches, my mom, dad, family, and even the best friends I get to cherish the rest of my life!! Gymnastics has brought me so much joy despite the challenges! I will never forget the silly dancing moments with my friends, the chalk-bucket convos, the cheering on of teammates, and so much more! Gymnastics is so much more than a sport, it’s a blessing, a family, and a love. Thank you Lord for giving me the blessings through gymnastics that I will hold within me forever and always be grateful for! Thank you Centenary gymnastics for showing me even more!! And thank you gymnastics for everything you have done for me!! I may miss you, but will never forget or regret anything❤️. #nationalgymnasticsday @centenarygymnastics by @aka_ames101
