OpenAI just triggered a major AI stock sell-off over a reported $20 BILLION revenue discrepancy. 📉🤯

Last week, OpenAI’s annualized revenue was reportedly approaching $70B. Today, the Financial Times reported it’s closer to $50B.

So where did the $20B go? 👀

According to Axios, the difference largely comes down to gross vs. net revenue accounting.

💰 Imagine a customer pays $100 for AI services through a cloud provider, which keeps $30.

Gross revenue: $100
Net revenue: $70

Same transaction. Different accounting.

Investors reportedly adjusted OpenAI’s numbers to make them comparable with Anthropic’s, helping produce the higher estimate.

The exact $20B discrepancy hasn’t been officially reconciled, but this wasn’t necessarily a revenue miss.

And the fact that one report could send AI chip stocks tumbling shows just how nervous investors are about the billions being poured into AI infrastructure.

India pays about ₹78,000 more for the iPhone Duo than the UAE. So is it worth flying to Dubai to buy one?

Save this before your next Dubai trip.

The Dubai math (Indian residents, 256GB Duo):
UAE price: AED 8,499, about ₹2,21,700
India price: ₹2,99,900

But customs applies when you land. India’s duty-free allowance is ₹75,000 (raised in February 2026), and the value above it is charged roughly 35 to 38.5% duty. On this phone, that’s about ₹51,000 to ₹56,500.

Phone plus duty: about ₹2,73,000 to ₹2,78,000.
Already going to Dubai? You save roughly ₹22,000 to ₹27,000.
Flying just for the phone? A Mumbai to Dubai return starts around ₹21,000, so you roughly break even.

Guides disagree on whether a new phone counts as “personal use,” so plan to declare it.

How I calculated this:
Local prices are Apple’s official list prices for the base 256GB model. US and Canada list prices exclude sales tax, so I added New York City’s 8.875% and Ontario’s 13% HST. Everywhere else, Apple’s price already includes VAT or GST. USD conversions use market rates from late September 2026 (about ₹95.8 per dollar; the dirham is pegged at AED 3.6725; Brazil: R$5.15, Sept 16). Rates move daily, so expect small shifts.

Honest caveat: fares change by date, hotels aren’t included, and customs rules can change. This isn’t tax advice, so check the latest rules before you fly.

Meta Muse saved me almost $1,000 a year in about 20 minutes.

I asked it to go through my email, find recurring subscriptions, and show me what I was still paying for.

Turns out I had three subscriptions I genuinely wasn’t using.

Instead of opening each website, hunting for the cancellation page, and doing it manually, I told Muse which ones I wanted gone.

It opened the browser, navigated through the cancellation flows, and handled them one by one with my approval.

A few minutes later, those recurring charges were gone.

This is the part of AI agents I find most interesting: not just answering questions, but actually taking actions for you.

OpenAI just let other AI models into Codex.

The closest analogy I can think of: imagine Apple letting an Android app store run directly on the iPhone.

That’s how unusual this feels.

Through Baseten, Codex can now use supported open models while OpenAI still owns the tools, the harness, the context and the developer workflow.

And that might tell us something important about OpenAI’s strategy.

Maybe the long-term moat isn’t making sure every request runs on GPT.

Maybe it’s owning the place where developers work, then letting the best model win underneath.

For developers, that could be a huge win: better models, cheaper models and OpenAI’s own models, all inside the same workflow.

Whether it’s ultimately a win for OpenAI?

That part is much less obvious.

Meta just launched Muse for Small Business, literally one day after I argued that small businesses could be one of the biggest beneficiaries of Meta’s enterprise AI push.

The idea is pretty powerful: connect Muse to tools like Shopify, QuickBooks, Stripe, Canva, Instagram, and Meta Ads, then give it a goal instead of manually jumping between every app.

For example:
“Boost sales for my slowest-moving products.”

Muse could figure out what’s underperforming, look at revenue, help create a promotion, and then launch a campaign across Meta’s tools.

This is why I think Meta’s opportunity here is much bigger than just building another AI assistant.

It could become an operating layer for running a small business.
