📅 3.10- 20:00 sold out! taken in Le Marni by @akamoonband

🎶 Before the music hits the stage… A lot happens behind the scenes. Beyond all the organising, there’s inspiration, composition — and then that special moment when the composer shares the music and the very first notes are played together. We lift the curtain on the first rehearsals of Aka Moon’s brand new creation, ‘Take the Coltrane’. Another thrilling musical adventure with our three master musicians Fabrizio Cassol, Stéphane Galland and Michel Hatzigeorgiou — joined, as tradition has it, by two virtuoso friends: Wajdi Riahi (piano) and Robin Eubanks (trombone). Soon this creation hits the stage. Tickets are still available, but don’t wait too long! 👇 📅 1 October — Reflektor, Liège 📅 3 October — Le Marni, Brussels (50 Years of Lundis d’Hortense Celebration) 📅 14 November — Grand Manège, Namur Images from the rehearsal at @voltabxl #AkaMoon #TakeTheColtrane #Jazz #NewCreation #behindthescenes taken in VOLTA by @akamoonband

🎷🔥 Pic (c) @valentinejamis — #AkaMoon #TakeTheColtrane #Jazz #Coltrane #LiveMusic BelgianJazz by @akamoonband

April is here. We’re in it. A full month to celebrate 40 years of jazz at the Sounds. Four decades of music, nights, encounters, and that unique energy that keeps this room alive, night after night. This anniversary month brings together everything that defines the club today: legendary figures, powerful voices, timeless repertoires and new forms of expression. On stage, icons and essential names like Philip Catherine and Aka Moon, alongside the deeply moving voice of Ivette Cepeda. Around them, a series of tributes that reconnect with the roots while keeping the music alive and in motion, from Ahmad Jamal to John Coltrane, and a special night dedicated to Nujabes, where jazz, hip hop and beat culture meet in one continuous journey. An anniversary month shaped by groove, heritage and transmission, with a special highlight: the Legends Jam, bringing together key figures of the club’s history in a powerful intergenerational moment. From intimate piano trio moments to powerful collective energy, from Cuban songs to spiritual jazz, from live bands to late night jams. More than a celebration, a living snapshot of what jazz has been, is, and continues to become. We’re there. Come celebrate 40 years of jazz with us. taken in The Sounds Jazz Club by @akamoonband

AKA MOON is back after several years at Paradox in Tilburg for an unforgettable trio concert! The Belgian trio Aka Moon has stood for pure musical joy for almost 35 years. The three members remain faithful to their jazz principles and have become a true reference in the European improvisation scene. Yet, saxophonist Fabrizio Cassol, bassist Michel Hatzigeorgiou, and drummer Stéphane Galland continue to reinvent themselves time and again. taken in Paradox Tilburg by @akamoonband
