Well that’s me signing off! It’s been very fun sharing my work and meeting so many new people in the past two weeks. I wanted to leave by taking a moment to talk about how it’s important to factor in rest and how scheduling it in to your week is just as important as everything else. Thanks everybody! Keep your eyes peeled for the next host! by @akankshashyam

I’ve been on some creatively fulfilling projects, stunning locations and worked with incredibly talented collaborators and actors. But some of my most rewarding experiences have been when I get the opportunity to train and mentor other young filmmakers. One such time was on a feature last year where, over the course of a month, I saw these crew members blossom into talented and disciplined storytellers. I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the incredible teachers and mentors that I had, both on set and in film school and I’m a true believer in mentoring when you can! Excited for what the Winter Breaks crew does next 🌲

When actor-director @meg_cashel asked if I wanted to shoot an experiemental fleabag-esque monologue about a woman setting her hair on fire, I have never agreed to something more immediately. We shot the Fire poem earlier this year and it’s still going through post but I got permission to share some stills and I’m so happy with how it turned out. Many limitations on this one as we had to work with the lighting setup available to us at a theatrical stage but we made it work! Big props to my lighting tech @chow_long_bao and one man crew @sonofarich and @tylermcboosh by @akankshashyam

@no_moreiloveyous was a one day short we shot in a beautiful Malibu estate for a filmmaking challenge. We got to play with some interesting themes of romance, melancholy and dreams. Inspired by Fellini, director @tiamatza wanted a mix of realism and surrealism - my favorite place to be. Fun fact, Tia found me through the ICFC database!

Shot with the help of @panavisionofficial ’s new filmmaker program on Panavised Alexa Mini and Panavision super Speeds
