At Nextones light and visuals become an integral part of the performances.

Visual artist and creative director @akasha_visual_art (Riccardo Franco-Loiri) brings his signature language, shaped by generative art, digital abstraction and immersive show design, to Tones Teatro Natura, creating the live visuals for Simo Cell & Abdullah Miniawy and Somatic Rituals, while also designing the lighting for Daniel Blumberg’s performance.

Working across audiovisual installations, video mapping and live shows, Akasha explores the relationship between light, perception and digital space, transforming each performance into a fully immersive experience.

Grazie a tutti, ci rivediamo, molto presto. taken in OGR Torino by @akasha_visual_art

ZERO,999… is a live show where sound, light, and sculpture are reimagined through combinatory strategies inspired by Italo Calvino’s tarot stories in Il castello dei destini incrociati. Riccardo La Foresta forged a suite of eleven viscerally powerful pieces in which sound and time are communicated simultaneously at different orders of scale. Roxy Ceron’s sculptures resemble fictional towers, reinterpreting one of the missing tarot cards in the deck used by Calvino. Akasha’s light design weaves together all these stage elements, materials and human presence, into a narrative performance.

A couple of weeks ago, thanks to @urbanvision_group , I once again had the honour of projecting some fantastic nature onto building facades throughout Italy. The walls of Milan, Rome and Naples came to life thanks to the Urban He-art initiative and its twenty selected artists. On that occasion, I presented my new artwork Hortus Occultum.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by and to all our friends who took photographs <3 <3 <3

Hortus Occultum is a living archive of impossible botany: whispering mandrakes, dark roses, translucent ferns, thistles of light, iridescent mushrooms and obsidian trees recombining into forms outside any real taxonomy.

The project draws on the great codes of fantastic botany, from Haeckel to the Voynich Manuscript to Codex Seraphinianus, and on literature where plants become metaphors of thought, from Borges to Wyndham. From this research I trained AI models to generate new plant morphologies, then animated them with algorithms that simulate breath and growth.

The result is an ecosystem suspended between biology and language, where the machine acts as a lens for human imagination. taken in Italy by @akasha_visual_art

Thank you @osafestival for hosting the premiere of ZERO,999... This new live show brings on stage La Foresta with acoustic and digital instruments, expanding on an immersive environment created by the sculptures of Roxy Ceron and the light design of Akasha, unfolding the album’s narrative into a musical performance where all these elements deconstruct and re-arrange the visual and compositional concept of the album, a missing tarot: the Tower.

Riccardo Franco-Loiri, aka @akasha_visual_art, is a visual artist and performer from Turin whose work blends architectural video mapping, immersive performances, and digital abstraction. His practice explores post-internet aesthetics and generative art through code and AI, investigating the shifting boundaries between perception and representation.

At Nextones 2025, he collaborated with British Murder Boys, creating the visual themes for their intense, high-energy set, and crafted a stunning live light and video performance during Buttechno’s show.

Akasha’s distinctive visual language has become a signature element of the Nextones experience.

Here are some glimpses—photos and videos—of these unforgettable moments.

Once again with @thelazzinho & @blearred team for a big one: Lazza's stadium debut show.
We crafted the visual design of contents and camera FX for the epic show in San Siro.

CONCEPT
Designed to match with the epic scale of San Siro and the energy of 50,000 fans, our visuals reimagines themes of transformation and power: dystopia and madness, opulescence and ruins, visuals and video scenographies merges into a digital architecture. Sharp lighting cameras and glitch textures creates a suspended space where Lazza’s hip‑hop flow takes on a monumental edge.

Marvelous photos by @fabiana__jpeg that caught on cam some of the very best moments of the show.

Botanica Binaria - screened for Urban He-art by @urbanvision_group

Last year, the Urban Vision team involved me in the group exhibition “Urban He-art” where digital artwork was projected on the facades of Milan, Rome, Naples and Catania. Together with 20 other fabulous artists, we created this huge outdoor group exhibition.

I was delighted to participate with my artwork “Botanica Binaria”, a selection of 3D scans of flowers, tree trunks and lichens that I produced and then manipulated and processed with @touchdesigner.

With my proverbial peremptoriness, one year on, I post on social :)
