What if buying mithai felt less like a transaction and more like discovering a piece of India?

SAANCHA is an independent retail concept built around tasting, storytelling, visible craftsmanship and personalised gifting.

The idea was to design the customer journey before designing the finishes.

Would an experience like this change how you buy mithai?

Art has always found its way into my process especially whenever I jump into something new that demands a little out-of-the-box thinking. But going from admiring art to actually being part of a show and seeing the magic (and chaos!) behind the scenes gave me a whole new appreciation for it. A solo show may look effortless on the walls, but behind it are years of ideas, experiments, mistakes, breakthroughs, and hard work. @prasadkesharinandan congratulations to you for this stunning show and to many more to come ♥️

As a commercial designer, I’m used to moving at lightning speed two-week turnarounds, or sometimes designing an entire village in just one week! This experience taught me to slow down, enjoy the process, and give ideas room to grow. Turns out, not everything needs to be finished yesterday some things are worth taking your sweet time over.

When I started designing Rishaya, I kept asking myself one question: How do we make people appreciate the hands behind the craft before they even see the products?

That thought became the foundation of the entire experience.

From the moment you enter, the space introduces you to the artisans their stories, their skill, and the generations of craftsmanship that make every piece meaningful. Every design decision was made to ensure the people behind the products were never in the background.

For me, great retail design isn’t just about creating a beautiful store. It’s about creating an emotional connection. When customers understand the story, they don’t just buy a product—they value the journey behind it.

A 50-year-old brand. No logo. No packaging. No identity.
Just a legendary product and a reputation built entirely on taste.
We changed that.
Full brand identity. Devanagari wordmark. Heritage packaging system. A visual language worthy of a brand that’s been feeding Rajasthan since 1974.
The result? Reliance × JioMart. Pan-India.
Branding didn’t make Chawannilal famous. It made their fame travel.

Most people spend years trying to find their focus. I spent mine going wider retail, weddings, bars, exhibitions, activations until I realised the focus was there the whole time.
Every room taught me something the last one couldn’t. That’s not a scattered career. That’s a curriculum you build yourself.

When PCO comes to AD Design Show, you don’t give them a booth. You give them a bar that feels like a museum.
Ode to Textiles. A pop-up bar concept designed for PCO Bombay at the AD Design Show — built around the idea that India’s most ancient fabrics and India’s most considered cocktails have more in common than you think.
The bar front: 10 backlit fabric panels Banarasi, Kalamkari, Paithani, Pashmina each one a different texture, each one glowing. The wall: embroidery hoops in a constellation, carrying fabric circles like they were always meant to be art. The cocktail menu: 14 drinks, each one named after a textile, each one designed from the story of that fabric.
Every design decision started from one question: what does a textile feel like as a space?

When a brand has a flavour profile this bold, you don’t decorate around it. You let it design the room.
Johnnie Walker Black Label at India Cocktail Week wasn’t a bar activation. It was a brand world built in black and yellow, anchored by a 12-foot LED Striding Man visible from across the venue, and designed from the inside of the liquid out.
Sweet smoke. Twelve years. Layers of fruit. Every design decision came from the tasting notes. The canopy carried the flavour language. The bar top was built to be photographed. The Striding Man figurines flanked every bottle like they owned the place because they do.
The brief said bar. We built a world.

I turned a Mexican ritual into the most alive night Indian bars had seen for V GOT THIS MARKETING.

Patrón asked for a Día de Muertos activation across on-trade venues in India. The brief was clear: decor, brand presence, Patrón Picante served.

But Día de Muertos isn’t about how a space looks. It’s about how it feels to cross a threshold to enter a different kind of time.

So that’s what we designed. The threshold first. The ritual logic before the visual system. Real marigolds, not prints. Props built from scratch, not sourced. Promoters in costume moving through the space in parade formation.
